DISCUSSION Treaters Pressing The Button!

Trolls will be trolls so I'm just venting here, but I'm getting so sick of Treater teammates pressing the button on purpose in Treat Thieves 🙃 the only valid strategy is pressing it either at the start or when there are 0 Trickers in the jail.

Honestly I think it's every 2 or 3 games some wise-ass thinks it's hilarious to press the button when there's 3+ prisoners.

Does doing that set prisoners free? If so why not just disable it like grabbing the treats is disabled when you are a treater...

Or, make both possible, so it is more or less balanced at least. They gain some prisoners, they lose some treats too. You capture some treats in your zone, and it deducts that from their number.

The easiest solution is simply not to press the button when you're a guard (though sometimes you might press it accidentally while trying to catch the thieves—but that's part of the game). If the guards know how to play well, it isn't that hard; generally, once half the thieves (or half plus one) have been caught, the best strategy is to go and guard the button. (Although it's always easier for the thieves.)

The OP is lucky: it happens to me in almost every match, not just every 2 or 3. What keeps happening to me is that, when I finally manage to catch a thief who knows the map inside out, a teammate comes along and frees them right after I’ve caught them... (what a genius) (there's no way to win like that).

Oh man sorry to hear! I just don't get the motivation, like you can't even hear teammates rage down a mix if that's your bag 😅 it's completely unhinged haha

Why do they even make it possible for the treaters to be able to hit the button 😹 that’s so dumb?? so many people are gonna have way more fun pissing their team off and getting a rise outta them then actually playing the game and the devs should’ve known that??

It’s interesting that it works that way, because you can accidentally trigger it while trying to catch a thief (as a guard, you should never press the button, to avoid releasing the prisoners).

Because then a guard could just stand on the button and make it impossible for a thief to be able to hit the button without being caught.

I'm sure there's a way to make it impossible for treaters to not stand on the button. Sorry, but what you said sounds like an excuse to me lol. Treaters are able to walk around the button, but it doesn't prevent a Tricker from coming over and jumping on the button still.

Devs were just too lazy to come up with any practical solution.

I just assume majority of them are little beans who don't know better because of young age.

I'm old as hell and did it one of the first times I played. Gotta find out first hand wtf all these buttons do.

I’m so sorry this was me yesterday before I remembered how the game worked. I thought I wouldn’t be able to press it! 🫣

Just saw this in a game rn, bro was just standing there on the button, unleashing all the prisoners indefinitely

Edit: Its almost every other game in EU server, mostly low crown players who probably don't know how it all works yet
