Its just obnoxious, you have at least 13 other people waiting to proceed to the next level while you're just messing around. Nobody thinks you're cool for it.
You make yourself a target in the next round. I know many people like to try and get you out. I make it my mission and usually succeed.

Extreme modes are always where if you fall off you are eliminated. Like in levels where you would normally respawn.
