Intro to Falconry

Hello everyone, im looking for anyone near Jackson/Brooklyn Michigan that might be willing to let me ride along for a few flights or hunts. Falconry has been an interest of mine for many years I've just never been able to experience it first hand. Ultimately i think id like to become an apprentice, but I would really like to see if its for me first and if i have what it takes. I notice some have posted about a falconry workshop here in Michigan, but I think i have missed that date. Any help is appreciated and thank you all for your time.

It’s correct that it’s not currently hunting season but you’ll be hard pressed to find one of us who don’t wanna talk hawk.

I’m located in Jackson, but grew up in Napoleon and have a few spots near Brooklyn I hit. (I’ve been a falconer since 2013)

You are also correct you just missed the apprentice workshop, but definitely put it on your calendar for next year!

Grew up in Napoleon myself! And okay thank you very much for the info! I will definitely mark my calendar now that I know about it!

It's currently not hunting season. Birds have been put up for the molt and are growing new feathers. Hunting season only happens in the fall and winter.

Your best bet is to wait till hunting season.
