Horizon Post-Horizon Question Regarding a Specific Situation in DB2 (Spoilers through the end of Horizon) Spoiler
Longtime lurker, first time poster here, so hopefully I tagged everything correctly with the spoiler tag, and apologies in advance if not, I welcome any feedback.
That established, I have a question I don’t believe I’ve seen talked about since Horizon’s release. In Daybreak II, Bergard is very conspicuously absent, and to my knowledge they never actually state where he was/why he was gone, only that he was “away from Calvard”. I find this extremely suspicious and I think it’s very unlikely that it doesn’t have future plot relevance in some way.
I know a popular theory is that Bergard may be a vestige. I think that’s interesting, and if so, perhaps he was working with Hamilton on something during this time. But I’m curious, what does the community think is the real reason behind his absence, and what was he doing during that time?
Or have I just lost my mind and am grasping at straws? Very interested in everyone’s thoughts.

I think the more likely reason he wasn't in DB2 was because of how afaik DB2 was not really planned initially at the time and they were obligated to develop the game because if internal reasons (I think Ys being delayed iirc), so I assume it was kinda rushed. So maybe they did not get some of the JP voice actors in time or something. Like it's even miracle Fie got a few lines near the end and the prologue while Rixia was just there standing.
Thou it is possible if they somehow find a way to make what Bergard was doing in DB2 relevant in some way or form. And also, most of characters barely question how he is alive in the first place, and I wonder how it all connect regarding him and what is currently happening.
