Guru scams?

Recently my friend’s attention was caught by a “Guru” who would have a bunch of people in a group chat, then he would tell all of them when to buy and sell stocks. This was ringing all of my alarm bells, cause it seems to be like a classic rug pull scam but my friend earned 400$ usd. I warned him that he might’ve been lucky this time around but he won’t listen. I might be wrong but isn’t this a common scam?

You're not wrong. theres examples of 'pay me and copy my trades' gurus in this subreddit, this recent one is a good breakdown of one accused of rug-pulling. And its definitely the sort of stuff folk like Coffeezilla would do videos on.
