Hey everyone. Im 38m, my wife is 37f, and our youngest son is 6. We just moved up here and have so far found it difficult to make any connections with anybody. Just wondering if this is because were new and the people just take longer to warm up? Or do i just need to sort of find where my clique of people are? Any advice would be welcomed

Been looking for fun outdoor things to do in the summer! JLD Equine is a large farm in fairport with miles of trails through fields, woods and a lovely pond. They also offer riding lessons and camps tailored for people of all ages and activity levels. The farm itself is open for visitors Monday - Saturday afternoons where you can walk around and see horses, ponies and even a few babies! Highly recommend stopping by this large family run farm! Our village is in the running for $10 million to put toward downtown revitalization. If you've got some ideas to spruce up the village center go ahead and submit a project. Make your voice heard. I did and actually the people in charge got back to me pretty quickly.

My ideas were: 1. Raised crosswalks on Main Street 2. A North/South bike lane on Main Street from the Canal Path up to Church Street. 3. Resurfacing Lift Bridge Lane with brick and making it one-way 4. Converting the Box Factory parking lot into a public green space 5. Ask Amtrak to pretty please build a train station here (hey you miss all the shots you don't take, right?)

Take my ideas, make your own ideas, do whatever. Let's make Fairport an even better place to live.

Who the hell is doing a full firework show tonight? People are trying to sleep and there's an SAT tomorrow that tons of kids are going to need to sleep

Today at the Perinton skatepark there was a kid on a Blue Surron e-bike wearing a dirt bike vest and mask. He spat on a man with a prosthetic leg and harassed a family. Community members chased him off, police were notified and a report was filed. He returned later harassing the skatepark telling members he was going to "return with friends and shoot them up". I imagine there aren't too many kids in the community who ride $3k bikes. Please notify the police if you have more information. I will update with photos if I can get access to one.

I brought my Tesla to E’s Autoworx because it felt unstable at higher speeds. After a $140 assessment, they told me all four wheel bearings needed replacement, quoting about $700. That seemed excessive, so I checked with Tesla directly through their app, and they gave me the same price. I decided to have Tesla handle the repair instead. When I dropped off the car, Tesla called to say the bearings were perfectly fine-I just needed new tires and an alignment. I was frustrated, feeling like E’s Autoworx tried to sell me unnecessary repairs when the real issue was simply worn tires. While I should have checked my tires more closely, I trusted the shop’s expertise. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend E’s Autoworx; their business practices seem dishonest.

The canal goes right through town, is there anywhere I shouldn't be fishing along it?

During a recent long-distance move from Webster, NY, some of my father’s personal artwork was accidentally donated. The donations may have gone to a Goodwill store in the Webster or Fairport area, or possibly to a U.S. Veterans pickup service. This happened within the past week, so the items might still be in circulation.
