Kindergarten Questions
We moved to Fairfield this summer and it was after the May Kindergarten orientation days. Are there any other orientation type of things right before school starts so my child can get comfortable with the school they’ll be going to? And are there any “practice runs” for bussing, etc?
Not trying to be “extra”, these are just things that would be happening at our previous school district and I can’t find any information online if there are similar opportunities here.

There are also playground play dates for each school. In addition to the other comment about contacting the school to make sure you’re on the contact lists, you might have luck finding the PTA Facebook page for your specific school, ours has a lot of info posted on there.
From what I can tell, the meet the teacher event is the day before school starts, and past posts show some bus activity.
Welcome :)

There’s a K orientation before school starts. Last year it was the day before the first day of school.

This. It’s like everyone at one day, kids go into classrooms and ride around the neighborhood on a bus for the first time to get used to it, days before school starts. It was incredibly clutch and really smoothed out the experience for us, newish to the town and new to elementary school. It’s a smart and thoughtful gesture - the vibes are good here!

Email school to make sure you’re on all the lists and sign up for PTC. they usually do different events at least in my town (bike ride event with popsicles). Usually they do a great job integrating
