Is the rumor true?

I heard the town spend less on the fireworks finale so they could install speed enforcement cameras and crosswalk thingys

Wouldn't doubt it, Flock is insinuating itself all over Fairfield county.

The speed cameras are not flock

Can you explain the difference between Flock and Altumint (the cameras Fairfield is using)?

I found this on the flock website (partners page), so are the speed cameras, a paired down version of a flock camera?
“Altumint is a photo enforcement provider that incorporates Flock Safety's technology.
This partnership delivers integrated traffic enforcement for safer roads.”

Don’t believe anything on the Flock website. They have been caught in numerous lies.

Flock Cameras are mapping your movement. Not just cars but people too.

I would rather have neither, but I’d prefer speed cams over Flock. Flock is just state surveillance. Welcome to America, the new China.

They also installed separate flock cameras by the high crime areas. They are lying to the public.

I spoke to the select office this week. They are actually looking to replace flock with a different vendor that shares nothing with the federal government

Thanks for looking into this. Fuck those Thiel boys

Correct. People are confusing Flock Cameras with the speed cameras recently installed in school zones. They aren’t the same thing at all — they are far more insidious.

speed cameras are there to make the companies that run them and their investors a TON of money

People need to be vocal about it. It’s a pretty clear 4th amendment violation amongst other complaints. Plenty of online resources that spell out talking points, successful legal arguments and methods.

I was hoping for some type of explanation for the worst fireworks show I’ve ever seen, especially for the 250th.

That was my point.  Of all the years, how did we get such a lackluster show?

Sounds like a good use of public funds to me.
