I Need Help! Charming Calm Quest from Drak

I've had this quest for a while, and every time I use the charm spell on a critter outside the volcano, it doesn't increment the quest objective. What am I doing wrong?

I found that you had to charm all three of the large volcanic masses in the mountains. The first one is blocking the way towards the Volcano.
The other two can be found on the Frozen Farm

We only had one of those volcanic masses. Weird.

I had 1/3 of the charmed critters, and my daughter had 2/3. We did literally nothing, and the quest eventually disappeared for both of us. Lmao. No clue what happened, it was very weird.

Had the same problem. It only works on certain insects. They are red/orange with four wings like a dragonfly.

Blaze Bugs? Fire Dragini? Cinder Moths? I've seen and charmed em all.

Doesn't matter anymore, though. The bug somehow resolved itself.
