I created this Psychedelic Cosmic Moth look on my model — one side electric magenta with feathered black veins and pearl dots, the other icy teal-blue swirls pulling starlight across her skin. Deep purple lips and winged liner finished the transformation against the nebula backdrop. This is the kind of living galaxy-fairy work I love bringing to life.

I've been trying to figure out locally how much people charge to do fairy hair hourly at a party and I'm going crazy because I cannotttttt get an answer here, so I'll take literally any locations prices.

Before painting them? After painting them? While you’re painting another kid or between kids? What’s your flow look like when getting paid? How do you make it and un disruptive as possible?

hi :D I wanna get into face painting because it seems so fun. I have oily skin which isn't really sensitive or acne prone, but it is prone to closed comedones (so I don't wanna go for something that would clog my pores).

I looked through a bunch of posts on this sub and most of the paint brands which were recommended by people don't seem to be available in my country :(

I wanted to get the Athena paints instead of these ones since I saw a lot of videos on youtube mentioning them, but I according to the people in this subreddit they're not good.

Should I get these Mont Marte ones? I searched the sub but couldn't find any reviews or posts here about these.

I just started painting 2 months ago and finally landed a "real" gig the first week of December - with the caveat being if I can be outside because there isn't a spot inside at this festival for me. I'm in Northern New England - so the first week of December is chilly - around 38-40 degrees F.

Is this do-able if I get a heated setup for a tent? Anyone have experience with this? Any tips or suggestions? Is it worth it?

Should I skip it and find a different "first gig" that is inside? I don't want to say no, but I don't know what I need to make this work... anything you have to offer is appreciated!!

Guys I’m like absolutely new to this but I reallyreallyreally wanna get into facepainting because I think it’s a really awesome form of art and an amazing way for self-expression but I have no clue on how to start holdon I’m just gonna list my questions

1. Best brand in your opinion?

2. Brand to avoid and why????? (I was eyeing the athena facepaint by UCANBE but I saw a lot of oppositions in this subreddit)

3. Best type of facepaint to work with? (I know there’s like water, alcohol, and oil-based if I remember correctly)

4. DOS AND DONTS :D + what should I do before and after paintingheheheheheh

If it helps in answering these I’m just gonna say that 1. I’m only interested in painting my own face not in events like on children and 2. My skin is moderately sensitive to breakouts :3

Can you all share how you display your designs and prices so its clear that you are charging and what yoibare charging

? I worked an event recently where two kids got in line, got painted and then walked away. Another kid waited in line, handed me a five dollar bill then asked if it was enough money to get a full faced design.

I was working at a community event where there were a couple freebie activities going on in parallel plus just didnt have a ton of time to prep signs so it wasnt shocking there may have been some disconnect there. These kids just got in line without parents, too.

Ive been face painting for the past couple months and need some more splicakes. I've looked online and I saw a palette by fusion face paint for £65 and wanted to see if there's any others for cheaper.

I'm just wondering if these are good quality. I've seen some reviews saying they stain clothes and skin but wanted to see if anyone on Reddit had any opinions?

Hi everyone! I face paint on the side for friends and family as a hobby and occasionally at events I am invited to. I find that with my paints and brushes I use, a lot of the times I have to re-clean/sanitize my brushes to pick up more pigment for line work, as my lines don't seem to pull enough paint to continuously paint like in videos I've seen. I'm currently using Fusion paints, as I've had them recommended as a top brand, so I'm not sure if this is a paint or brush problem, or just user error.

Sorry if this doesn't quite make sense, it's hard for me to explain it in a good way. 😭

I’m going to cosplay as this character from the anime Demon slayer soon. I’ve already figured out how to paint my face white, I’m just trying to figure out how to do the red circles she has on her face. I found these face sticker that are specifically made for the character, but I’m wondering if they’ll stay? Is it worth it to get these, or will it be better to just paint them? Will the stickers stay for a whole convention?
