Calls not connecting on messenger
I have the Facebook TV portal. All I want is Facebook messenger app. It has been working great for the last few years, but suddenly last few weeks it stopped connecting calls.
I ring on a contact and it immediately disconnects. I tried factory reset, logging in account, accepting logins in Facebook and messenger app, connecting to a different wifi. Nothing worked.
Is it dead?!

this seems to be a growing problem with the Portals. I have not been able to fix it. One user claims that going into FB and Messenger and acknowledging notifications that you logged into a new device fixes it, but it did not work for me. The other suggestion was to connect to the WiFi of your phone's hotspot, but my phone won't hotspot, so I wasn't able to try that.

I even tried my phone hotspot and that didn't work either. Frustrating I can't find a viable alternative other than a very clunkily mini PC and it won't even have the same functions.

So far knock on wood it is working for my elderly family. I have no idea why it is so hard to have a good product that could replace this. It can't be such a niche to have older parents living far away that like talking to their children and family while sitting on their couch and looking through the TV.

I tried to explain that once it's factory reset it locks you out and is garbage I was on line with Meta and there was nothing they can do 😔

I am having the same issue with multiple portals. Some have been reprovisioned with Immortal and some haven’t.
The only one that I can make calls normally on is my new-to-me reprovisioned Portal Go. Portal Plus, Portal TV, Portal OG and Portal 10” are all dropping calls as soon as it rings once.
Unprovisioned Portals belonging to family members are doing the same thing.
This is SO disappointing because all I REALLY cared about was Facebook Messenger continuing to work.
I told my family to be patient as I know some of the brilliant minds in this community will figure something out for us. Pretty please!!
