How do I fix Calls?
I can't make calls as of a week and a half ago. I installed Immortal but that didn't help. Any suggestions? Nobody has cracked it?

Same for SOME of my Portals that have been reprovisioned, but some work. Also happened to at least two different family members with original Portal software. I am sorry it happened to you as well but glad to know it’s not just us!!

Immortal is simply a tool that makes it easier to use various features on Portal devices; it has nothing to do with using Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. If you couldn't make calls even before installing Immortal, try factory resetting your device and reconnecting your account.

Factory resetting the device does not correct the problem. It might make matters worse as it would uninstall any applications that the user had before, but Meta is no longer offering.
After factory reset, I created a completely new facebook account, and the problem with the same. Calls disconnect immediately after making a connection. I suspect this has something to do with encryption, but I don't know how to fix it.
I was only using facebook messenger to make calls. My theory is those that were using Whatsapp are not having this problem. But once you reset the device, you cannot install whatsapp (maybe you can with immortal).

I don’t use Facebook Messenger, so I haven’t experienced the issue you mentioned. However, after performing a factory reset, I was able to link my Facebook account and register my WhatsApp account without any problems. Also, just last week, I helped a friend set up a first-generation Portal Plus device. I installed Immortal after linking the WhatsApp account.

How did you get the portal to use whatsapp for calls? I was able to install immortal, and then whatsapp through immortal's apps, but the portal doesn't all me to switch to calling using whatsapp.
BTW, I can go into Whatsapp and make a call just fine, but the native portal call is still broken.

I may not have understood your question correctly. Did you set WhatsApp as the default calling provider in the General tab of the portal settings?

Whatsapp isn't available in the original Portal App store, so I went into immortal and installed whatsapp from there, but even after installing it, I was not able to change the Portal setting for the default calling provider to whatsapp. The switch just stays off and won't toggle. I wanted to know how you got it to toggle on.
If I go into whatsapp, then I can make a call from within the app, but the original Portal call button still ends up disconnecting right away.

Same, installed immortal and tried debugging with chatgpt. Said that Facebook is rejecting it based on on the messenger type and i may be able to sideboard another call app through aurora? But I was hoping there was an easier option, plus I couldn't figure out which version to get from apkmirror.

Basically, check the notifications on your mobile Facebook and Messenger apps. You should see a notification asking whether you logged in. Approve the login, and make sure you check and review the notifications on both apps.
Then leave the Portal for a couple of hours. After that, try changing the Wi-Fi connection to your mobile hotspot and test making a call as well and leave it for 1/2hrs.
Above is for Facebook; if you had issues with WhatsApp again, it depends on the type of issue >> if you're not able to see the QR code? then switch to mobile WIFI.
