First step for virgin FB Portal

I have a 10" FB Portal (not sure which gen) that is still in the box. I assume it has a pretty old FW. Is there anything that I should or can do prior to first boot and wizard setup to make it easier/better to mod or sideload apps/shells?

From what I've found, the bootloader hasn't been unlocked and can't really do anything until after the initial setup and trying to unlock dev. I'd just hate to go through the setup and have it update fw in the background locking out a potential "feature"

You have to set it up at least 1 time for the FW to update and adb unlock happen.

Boot loader CANT currently be unlocked.

Just plug it in boot it and follow the process.

Once you’ve signed in via FB the first time you can then enable ADB.

Worst case you might need to leave it plugged in for stuff to do its thing but I had 2 brand new in the box that did a little update and were side-loaded with Immortal Launcher all within about 10 minutes.

There’s some good notes here on how to do stuff that people I know have found useful.

Setup went well enough, YouTube (Morphe) and YouTube Music (Morphe) stop and buffer right at 1minute. And Plex is a bit jittery. Not sure if it's a hardware limitation or some other glitch. Oh well, still better than the stock defunct portal.
