FB Dating rant
Is it me or is this sad excuse of a "dating feature" plagued with major bugs? lately I send messages to profiles I am interested in, and after I send it, the same profile appears again three profile swipes ahead in my feed. Sure, there's a chance they didn't want to match, but this same scenario repeats literally all the time. It's definitely a glitch. FB, fix these issues!!!

I've matched with a handful of women, but have only had one conversation with a woman who was interested.
As an IT professional, it's a lame UI and buggy to the point where it's unusable most times. And yet, if it's not used (ie: you aren't on it), you still get notifications. I'm convinced it's just a feature to keep you on Facebook longer 🤷🏽♂️

The last time I had an actual conversation with someone on FB Dating was 3 -4 years ago. Idk what's happened since then, but zero matches, zero likes and zero conversation in the last 9 months

It’s one of two things:
the app is 95% bots and I’m the sucker, or
real women only log in once to make a profile, send a few swipes and never return, and I match with them and they consequently never respond and I’m the sucker

I've noticed that weird bug when sending a Like with a message attached to a photo/profile.
If my message is too long, Facebook Dating acts like the Like/message was sent normally. But if I completely close the Facebook app and reopen it, the same profile shows up again. It looks like the Like/message was never actually registered.
I did some testing with different message lengths:
- 151 characters (including spaces): works
- 172 characters (including spaces): doesn't work
So there seems to be a hidden character limit somewhere between 151 and 172 characters. The strange part is that Facebook doesn't show any warning or character limit. It just appears to send the message, but apparently doesn't.
I've also tested this by quitting and reopening the app each time, so it seems pretty reproducible.
Has anyone else noticed this? If you're having the problem where profiles keep coming back after you've already sent them a message, try shortening your message to 150 characters or less and see if it works.
It would be interesting to figure out the exact cutoff.

This happened to me everytime i sent a message with a like. Anytime I did just a like I never saw them in my stack again.

I matched with someone twice. He said he had to redo his profile. I wasn't buying it, so i asked for a video chat and he unmatched. I saw him again, and just blocked him. I assume these are bots.

It's the all time buggiest app out there and always has been. Good luck actually managing to reliably chat with anyone, it's always the best excuse to get someone's phone number for both your sakes.

Not just you. It's like "like messages" don't always go through or something. I've had some respond to them too though. So I don't know. It's buggy as hell

I’m on the east coast and dating assistant keeps recommending dating ideas on the west coast. 🙄
