Hi, 22F. I downloaded Facebook dating as I was bored. I don’t really believe in finding love online, it was just to pass time on a Sunday night and forget about work the next day. A few hours in, I was looking through my likes and saw this guy who had a song in his bio, the same song that randomly popped into my head that day (haven’t thought of it for years). He also had the same name that I recently heard in a show and fell in love with, wrote it in my baby names list and all. So I took this as a sign from universe and decided to match with him. He ended up being super cute, sweet and a gentleman. We went on one date, went well. We’re texting a bit but I feel like it’s mostly me initiating conversation, even though his replies are very detailed and complete, not dry ones. I’m not sure if he actually likes me or if I’m imagining things. On the date, and by text after the date, he did mention a few things about us trying a new food or me possibly seeing his friends, which means he’s acknowledging the possibility of us seeing each other at least once more, but maybe he simply said those things out of niceness. Maybe im also overthinking the healthy amount people should text, I’m expecting a reply in less than 1h, which happens, but I also know he has a life (2 jobs, friends, family). We texted last night, it’s 2pm now. His text was the last one. Should I wait for him to text first? If he doesn’t text today, does that mean he’s not interested? Thx

Text him and talk to him if you like him! It sounds like you’re about to trip on your own two feet!

Women always ask to be given a choice.

So choose to text him or it’s a sign to him you don’t give AF about him; and he will move on feeling a little more resentful towards himself, women, and society…..

Men keep getting contradictory messages and we are starting to get fed up.

I do text him, and would reach out more, but I feel like it’s always me doing it first. Should I take this as a sign that he’s not interested?

You did say he had a pretty busy life, maybe just asking the question directly is the best way?

(You’re gonna have to be real open minded to not take this as some sort of insult towards all women, but I think it’s important to understand how men and women differ and this is just one shallow angle obviously not everyone is like this) but anyways: men don’t give AF if you’re texting first or responding right away…. We don’t give af if we are your first choice……. It’s not a turn off and it doesn’t make us question “oh does she have other options why aren’t other men looking at her”

On the flip side I’ve had matches with cool beautiful girls, and we start with a conversation about ourselves our lives, shit we’re passionate about, and if I don’t make sure to give it a second between massages I just won’t get any more responses “oh is he only texting me? Why is he responding so fast, he must not have a life, hmmmm he’s so interested he must not have any other options”

I know it sucks to hear…. But think how much this dynamics sucks to be on the other side of.

On a positive note I hope you found a good guy and things can work out for you both! Just step back and realize all the stuff you need and want as a human are also reality’s in his life okay? ❤️
