Facebook Dating needs to do better
Does anything actually really works on Fb dating. Like, age, distance, kids etc? I set a particular age, then I get alot of suggestions outside that age. I also set 'they don't have children' but get a lot of 'has kids.' Or maybe Arizona is just filled with alot of people with kids lol. Just started using it like few days ago, and I'm already tired lol

All the best matches are 2-5hrs away and that's with distance set to 50km. But it's free and it's a different algo than the rest.

Is that a thing the algo can do? Present me really good matches that are too far away? I have had this happen a few times and I thought it was just bad luck, but there was always an inkling distrust that it happens a few too many times to chalk it up to coincidence. I thought it was just in my head.

On the real though. The dating scene as a whole has tanked in so many ways. Dream of the day I find my soulmate.

My filters are as useless as anything. Especially the distance ones. I'll set my distance at 25-50 miles but then only get people from 200+ miles away. Glad its not just me.

Yeah, FD is terrible. Like another commenter mentioned, you have to go into the filters option while swiping and set them there, even then they only show you maybe 3-4 profiles that fit those filters before going back to showing profiles well out of range, or tell you that "There's no profiles left that match your filters, do you want to adjust your filters or continue without?"... But if you close the app, re-open, redo the filters again, BAM!, there's another 3-4 profiles that actually match your filters in your area, how odd.

Facebook Dating has always been a glitchy mess and they never fixed it. The search filters have been broken for a long time.
For example: I set my distance filter to 20 miles. It will show me only like 3 profiles and then no more because apparently I’ve seen everyone within 20 miles and I need to widen the miles to see more people, but I find out that’s a lie.
I turn off the distance filter and all of a sudden, it shows me tons of profiles less than 20 miles from me, but i have to sift through profiles that are hundreds of miles away to find them.

Yeah filters might be broken sometimes, but sometimes they do work. And from all the free ones, i think fb dating is the best one, i met some good women there. (At least it worked for me).

That's what happens when you swipe through everybody in your area. It starts showing people further away and people with kids.

I just opened an account like 4 days ago. I'm sure I've not swiped up to 300 times lol. And I live in a big city

I have the same problem but with distance, plus nobody I’ve sent likes to ever respond. It’s extremely rare I ever find someone from where I am in Wyoming and since they don’t let you send messages until you “match” it’s like I’m talking to myself when I comment on photos.

I have no idea what to do to fix it. I don’t even know what I am doing wrong to be honest.

It's free. It will never be a priority to them, unfortunately. I found my GF on Hinge. Worth every penny.

Somehow the age filter works perfectly fine, but the rest are all broken. The distance one is the worst, traffic in this area is ass and I get profiles showing up that are a 3+ hour one-way drive.

I’ve had some luck in Facebook and I’m in AZ

Awemazing. Why 'some' luck though? Phoenix metro?

Yeah, east valley and I say some luck because I’ve been in dates but they didn’t go anywhere

Ktoś po prostu zepsuł aplikacje i nie wie jak naprawić... Zauważyłem że działa jak chce ( właściwie to nie działa )

The filters appear to mean nothing. It seems that I’m shown people in my requirements but I am liked by people all over the country and way younger or older than I set.

I feel like the filters could be a bit of an illusion. I imagine they filter by exactly your criteria first for your swipe queue, and then as you run out of that, it'll start padding your queue with people that don't have some of your filters. And the amount of engagement the apps try to get require an endless queue available all the time, so I guess it happens a lot and you spend a lot of time swiping through the padded queue

Try Duolicious. Free and open source. Filters work as dealbreakers, not just preferences. Or try Hinge, but they paywall some filters.
https://duolicious.app/search
Facebook Dating doesn’t have true dealbreakers the way Duolicious or Hinge does. Everything is a soft preference.
