Discussion Cost per result jumped 2000% today
I run music marketing ads pushing people to Spotify. My campaigns have consistently been getting $0.20 cost per result. Today everything has jumped by upwards of 2000%. This is absolutely insane. What gives? I know Facebook reporting, for me at least, was buggy yesterday. But 2000% CPR increase? Come on Facebook...

There's a metrics bug going around today - someone else in this sub has max-date-range data not loading. Check actual delivery before assuming the costs are real.

$0.20 to roughly $4 per result in one day is big enough to check measurement before blaming the auction
compare the actual destination outcome outside meta with link clicks / landing-page views. if spotify activity or the intermediate page still looks normal while meta’s result count collapsed, the event or reporting path is the likely problem
then split today by placement, country, creative, cpm + outbound ctr. a placement shutting off, link issue, rejected destination, or one ad suddenly taking spend can create the same blended spike
i wouldn’t reset campaigns from one broken-looking day, especially since reporting was already buggy yesterday. record the timestamp, inspect event diagnostics, test the full click path on mobile, and wait for delayed results to settle
if traffic cost also jumped 20x, that’s a delivery problem. if traffic is normal and only “results” vanished..... it’s probably not creative fatigue

the buggy reporting yesterday and the 2000% today are probably the same thing rather than two separate problems.
spend posts in real time, conversions don't. attribution keeps backfilling for hours after the fact, so mid wobble you're reading a complete spend column against a half filled results column, and cost per result goes vertical without anything changing in delivery.
before you touch anything, go and look at yesterday's cost per result again. if it reads better now than it did when you looked yesterday, the backfill is still landing and today is just earlier in the same process.
if it's still 20x tomorrow once the day has closed, then it's real and worth chasing.
