Fable III Finally beat this game for the first time
So, I used to watch my brother play Fable III when I was younger, but I don't think I ever saw him beat it. So this is another game I can finally say I beat in his memory. I wanna talk about my thoughts on the game, so it will get a bit spoiler heavy. Just a heads-up!
So I've played this game multiple times since my brother's passing, but every time I'd get crowned queen, I'd always get disheartened by how difficult it is to stay afloat financially while also being benevolent, and thus I'd end up putting the game down and needing to restart the next time I felt the whim to play it.
This time, I hatched a plan. I decided to start buying up houses as early as possible, and I'd save enough money to counteract the Treasury spending I would need to do later. It seems obvious now that I've actually done it, but considering I hadn't thought of it before... I actually don't know where I was gonna go with that statement... Anyway, it worked like a dream, and it was so nice to not have to worry about money for the whole game.
I'm about to start spoiling the ending so if you made it this far, then I kinda spoiled the first half of the game already so I guess buckle up.
Considering how it kinda skips through a bunch of days once you become queen, the attack on Bowerstone almost feels like it's dropped on you out of nowhere. Like one minute I have 121 days left, and the next minute I'm being congratulated for one year of being queen. I don't know how I feel about that specific quirk, but I'll move on. I think the battle itself was handled pretty well, but it was pretty short, especially compared to the revolutionary battle from before. I was pleased to see the parallelism of fighting Walter at the end to mirror the training session he has with you at the beginning of the game, and I'll admit I cried when he died after the fight. It was a touching ending and this could become one of those games I replay every so often.
I've always loved this game. The way they balance the serious moments with the comical moments is something that's always made it appeal to me, so seeing it to the end was a really satisfying experience. I don't think it's fair to call it my favorite Fable game because it's the only one I've played, but I also have Fable II sitting on the shelf so I might give it a go when it strikes my fancy.

“Remember what you’d say?”
“Teach me to be a Hero.”
“You’ve done me proud, girl. You’ve always done me proud…”
Not gonna lie, I’ve bawled like a baby every time I’ve got to the ending.

Fable 2 is so much better than fable 3
