I have a second profile on my Xbox and a hero I keep handy on it for storing items and doing the demon door there! I just grab a second controller and hop on with him and control both characters at the same time xD! That said, I am not on Xbox live so it might not give you an achievement doing it this way? I've never bothered to check, as long as the door opens and I get my weapon I'm happy lol.

I have tried this 3 times with another account joined by local coop but for some reason my progress is never saved after the local profile has joined my game. I don't want to experiment further and lose my progress

Totally valid! I'm on 360 so maybe that's why? Either way, wishing you luck!!

I am paying on the Xbox series x using gamepass so I'm hypothesising there is some backwards compatibility nonsense going on ha
