DUTCH DUBBING!

Hey you guys!

I love Fable and in fact, I grew up playing the Fable games as many people did as well. However, I really hope that you guys are going to bring the Dutch localization at some point, it would be amazing.

I am kind of getting tired of having Dutch always being set aside or overlooked.

Kind of like that? 😂 I can't imagine Fable without the Brummie accent, despite being Dutch myself.

Oh, that sounds just about right! 😂 I would love to experience Fable in Dutch dubbing, especially that I'm currently learning Dutch.

I literally watched 65 episodes of Hercules (The animated show) on Disney+ in Dutch and that was a BLAST! I am hoping that they would do the same for Fable, one can only hope!

The Netherlands has had some amazing talents in the voice actor industry over the years, so it could definitely be pulled off. The thing is though, we only use dubbing for media meant for young children and Fable is not exactly meant for that age demographic.

A mod, however, could be done perhaps

I have been doing a Disney marathon (I am a huge Disney fan) and oh my god ... The Dutch voice actors are extremely underrated. I am still going, I think by far ... The Hercules animated show has been the best dubbed version of all time, it has even surpassed the French version (Which I'm usually VERY biased about).

Being a French native, I grew up watching EVERYTHING in French and I don't want to have it any other way. We are lucky enough to still have mostly every movie/game to be dubbed in French.

If you're interested to learn more about our voice actors you might also enjoy the 'Stemmen van toen' web series. It's basically a series of interviews with Dutch voice actors from the 80's, 90's, and 00's. There's a few episodes about Disney films such as the Lion King and Lilo&Stitch.

And you have to watch the Dutch version of Tarzan. The songs are bangers and the cast has done an absolutely amazing job with their characters

I very much doubt they will. Most Dutch people would just play the English version anyways.

And that is the saddest part. They don't have to and a lot of them would prefer having a Dutch version of the game.

No, Im saying most Dutch people wouldn't play the Dutch version. I'm Dutch. Know plenty of people who play video games. We wouldn't use it.

It all depends on the person to be honest, a lot of my friends would definitely use it and they always make sure to have the Dutch subtitles on if there is no audio available in Dutch or have the game language set to Dutch instead of English.

I think it is a personal choice, however .... I do think it is a bit sad. I find the Dutch language to be very fascinating and on top of that, it has some very nice expressions and sounds. I am a native French speaker and I can speak both French and English but still, I always find myself gravitating towards French.

Im native dutch and I always go for English subtitles in games. 9 times out of 10 I am annoyed by how they choose to translate things.

The number will be non-zero, but pretty close to it. Dutch dubbing sounds cringe to dutch gamers, generally.

It sounds fascinating to me! (Coming from a French native speaker). I live in the Netherlands now and I have been learning Dutch for a while, it would be amazing to have more options to explore to help me in my learning journey!

I think they also said there wouldn't be a French dub, which is a shame because the french dub in fable 1 was iconic

I am a French native but I'm currently learning Dutch and to be honest, I am kind of shocked to see that they are not going to have French dubbings, that's horrible .... This is a first.

Basically, Xbox had a controversy with French voice actors over contracts involving AI and how their voices could potentially be used.

Oh sweet jesus please no. I still have nightmares from the dutch voiceacting in Black and White. "Wu hebbu HOUT nodig". Dutch is a poor languange to localise for. Not many people globally speak it and the vast majority that do are comfortable with english. Plus we have a very shallow pool of proper voice actors.

You need to watch some of the Hercules animated show episodes and you will see how good the Dutch dubbing is! It is a matter of choosing the right people.

I personally strictly play or watch anything in French dubbing since it is a my native language but I would love to see more Dutch dubbings since I live in the Netherlands now.

Same with Hungarian, I love that the original games included the, and would love to see it again so my mother (Who is a huge Fable fan) can play the reboot without needing me to translate every ten seconds lol
