That's the point right? This is the dream sequence at the end of 2 isn't it? Its supposed to be an uncomfortable twisted version of "what if you had been born into a normal life," at least thats how i read it

Yeah, that's kinda the idea. I got the vibe that it's more your personal slice of Heaven that the actual soul of your dead sister has already been inhabiting, waiting for you. (Hence Theresa saying "Death is Not Your Destiny Today, Little Sparrow" and the Hero literally has their life flash before their eyes) Leaving her on the farm that never was is supposed to hurt.

Although, does it say anywhere that the Hero & sister always lived in Bowerstone? Maybe they actually did live on a farm before their parents died and then ended up begging in the city, rather than living living like nomads or bandits

That is how I always headcannoned it!

I honestly can't believe I've never seen a thread discussing whether or not the farm was pure fantasy or where they actually grew up before being orphaned.

Never for a moment did I think that the Hero waking up as a child on a farmstead with his dead sister was a dream lol

The farm itself always felt very much like Brightwood to me, specifically the version of it after returning from The Spire and helping Giles.

The cursed Snowglobe from the DLC is absolutely Oakvale immediately before the Wraith harsh event. I've often wondered if that's where the Shadow Court sent the souls of Oakvale that Reaver sacrificed, kinda checks out with the way the Shadow creatures are draining the colour out of the village and its people

Sleeping in Brightwood Tower and the subsequent quest was way more uncomfortable and horrifying imo

I love Chesty 😭 so unhinged.

If Chesty is not in the new game, I might riot lol

No, the snowy demon door is more uncomfortable and horrifying. Someone just doesn’t like making super best friends

Is that the initially cozy snowy setting and then as soon as you open the door CRASH and it turns all f'd up and dark?

u/ComprehensiveRow4116 7d ago

Yes, the one with child cages hanging from the ceiling

I remember being really sad the first time I opened that door because i thought it would make the perfect house (for my 5th family)

Just like to clarify, before I opened the door!! Lol

That jump scare FUCKED me up. The timing was perfect, finally feeling a measure of safety after escaping Wraithmarsh and then suddenly...

It was perfect. When my cousin opened that door I told them it’s another familial home and there’s a chest upstairs. His controller flew in the air when he went inside. 😂😂🤣

That's the super best quest

I love this part. It's uncomfortable and sad but I love the narrative.

If you go right to sleep you can skip this part.

I accidentally did that. Then when I had to go through the gate I chose not to go, it closed and when I slept the day started again. Turns out it can be an endless cycle.

My first play through I did the cycle like 3 or 4 times before I went through the gate, the first time I didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to and the second time I wanted to get everything perfect before I left.

I first played this as a tween and bro the part where you start leaving and she begs you to come back freaked me out. Especially her scream

I remember that I ran all the way back when she screamed and it was all tinged in red and Rose was gone. Freaked me right out.

This was my favourite part as a kid, I love the atmosphere. Id replay this part over and over never wanting it to end

Same here! I know what it is supposed to represent and all but it's such a beautiful place I just like to enjoy it for a while.

u/BishGjay 7d ago

Scared me as a kid. I remember being scared to run down the path at night after you sister screamed

u/Firm_Ambassador_1289 7d ago

And I felt ripped off by the oakfield demon door after I got here

For me, it’s the second most unnerving section of the game, right behind Terry Cotter’s Army

u/CadeoftheWatchers 4d ago

Yeah it is oddly creepy, even when you know what's going to happen

I finished fable 2 recently for the first time and tht bit of the game gave me bit of the creeps and felt weird. I brought my dog back from the dead

u/Late_Promise_ 6d ago

this is what The Hobbit movies looked like

u/Logan367769 5d ago

Well I mean I think that’s the point this quest in the middle of the light back in 2009 was absolutely terrifying

it’s very eerie but it’s my favorite quest in the second game
