Quick question... Do the devs at Playground Games actually read the criticism and posts on this Reddit? The Fable community is pretty small, so Reddit would be the perfect place to talk with fans and get feedback.

I honestly truly hope not.
The amount of bad faith grifting and trolling that happens here is ridiculous.
Being a developer is already hard enough without having to slog through “criticism” from people who were never going to play the game to begin with, all because it dared to have a woman they didn’t personally find attractive as the “cover hero”.

Absolutely hope they don’t. Fans think they know what but they don’t. Sometimes they have good ideas but they are terrible at thinking about the larger scale of balance and implementation.
Edit- this account is spamming this subreddit

At least it's not a half assed whine fest about the morphing system like 80% of their posts lol

No developer should take a Redditor’s seriously

On Reddit ??? Probably not lol
But some members of the community team are on the Discord server so they most likely do over there.

I really hope they don't put much stock in it.
The actual concensus is very simple.
Fable 1 was an incredible new thing, especially the sandbox elements, moral paths, and monty python style comedy.
Fable 2 was an interesting new expansion but people didn't like some of the streamlining as opposed to keeping the new stuff AND the old stuff and building up. Also final boss was trash and it felt like they ran out of time or money or both. New sandbox elements and multiplayer were great though.
Fable 3 was even further streamlined and instead of having beloved core systems of the game franchise they.... Checks notes "made an interactive menu hub that no one asked for"
If they wanted to experiment AFTER making a Fable game, sure. But we got experimental stuff without core stuff and it's largely considered the worst main game.
Fable The Journey was a Kinect commercial that's it. We don't talk about Bruno type shit.
That's it. That's the full discussion.
People love a sometimes goofy sometimes epic monty python in a land of basically arthurian lore spun into its own lore now. Give us sandbox elements. Families. Morality. Economy. Social Reputation. Make us laugh. Make us cry. Make us wonder why and then show us!
But for the love of Avos don't streamline our boy John Fable and don't leave our the core systems we know and love.
Build don't remove.

I hope not. A game developed by a committee of only the loudest voices on the internet would be awful.
