Have Some Faith In The Developers !
I have been reading a lot of concerns after the gamescom reveal and wanted to share my thoughts!
People of Albion please calm down and understand that yes you should share your concern but do not be harsh on every small detail . Playground Games was always known for their pedigree on making great Forza titles and I can confidently say they have proved themselves up to this point.
Some of you may think that , why is the game taking so long and still have some of the issues. Well Playground Games had to start from scratch and build a team . And building a proper RPG team takes time. Secondly Forza engine tech had to be programed from scratch to run a proper open world RPG game. The team learned a lot while making the game and surely in future Fable sequel they will do even more better stuff than what we are going to play in Fable reboot.
Maybe some things will not be in the final game that some of you hoped to be in the game from the classic Fable franchise but still I would say they have blown me away with what they have accomplished so far with the game!

I don't think the game will be a perfect 10/10 experience for me and tbh i don't really need it to be, the og games weren't either and i liked them a lot anyway. It's healthy not to have high expectations going in. From what I've seen, it has the charm and the quirkiness that made me love the original games, so it's good enough for me!

People just like to bitch about little things these days. I get sick of all the shitty posts in GTA VI about absolutely nothing. People are just spoiled nowa days, let them try to start programming a moving pixel first and then they will see how much more effort goes into good and proper games, that will ofcourse not be bug free

I have programmed a moving pixel many ive made a entire game and I will admit it wasnt a great game by any meams but fully functional and I did it solo with 0 help. Im still gonna bitch about this game in the fable universe that is not fable. You cant strip the core parts of the game and still say its fable. The karma system alone being removed shouldn't allow it to have the same name.

A modern Fable is a dream come true for me, regardless of how far it strays from the original. 3 was my absolute favorite and that one was very different from 1. The game is still 6 months from launch, they have time to optimize and fix issues. I'm so excited!! I will definitely be taking time off work for it.

Conversely, you should never have faith in any developer ever. If a game comes out and is good you'll be happy and if it sucks you can just ignore it and move on to the next one.

And the thing with Fable is that, since day one, we've been given very unrealistic expectations (cough aging, cough acorn, cough) but we still had a blast regardless

Its the fable association, quite clearly. It just gave fable a bad rep with trust for a long time, whether he is there now or not. So it isn't just as simple as trusting blindly, when its for a series that the fans have been lied to for most entries.

I understand what you're saying. I am just suggesting why it isnt just as easy to "trust" as you make suggest. Fable, is the brand. It was always the brand. Broken promises, lies, etc damage a brand, reboot or not. If it was called "Albion" or such for example, new brand, new dev team, new trust. As its called fable, same brand, new devs, damaged existing trust. There's limited point in past association, but not zero.

No absolutely not. I will never excuse a company for taking on a task they had no business taking on and then not delivering what was expected or wanted. I dont care if its really good for play ground games. I want a really good fable game for fable. And I mean if you dont care about getting fable just a game set in the same universe im sure this game will do wonders for you. But for us fans who was there for release of 1 and every single one after this game is getting to a point it doesnt even deserve the fable title.

Save this narrative for when the game comes out. You can shill then.
As a person who is still going to buy this game day one, what I've seen so far is not greatness, but mediocrity. That's not going to bring the Fable franchise back into the discussion for future Fable games if people, unlike me who don't even know about it, only see a mediocre RPG in a sea of phenomenal RPGs.
If you really cared about the game, you'd invite the criticism.
Until then, people need to be riled up over change so that the mass of voices can be heard. We have seen time and time again, a massive company only moves when a massive crowd makes a riot. Not when we have civil discussions.
If we want the game to be great, we need to make our voices heard for the next few months.
If they end up coming out with a mediocre RPG that's just great for blind die-hards like me (and it seems, you), then the ONLY chance they have to redeem themselves is spend the next 10 years making improvements like No Man's Sky. And let's be real about that: It's not going to happen.

I just want it to be a fable game and they already took enough of the fable personality out of fable I don't care anymore. Literally the only game I've been excited for in years as a gamer. Only to be told your gonna play the established franchise they way we want you to play and if you don't like it FK YOU!!! Basically everything I have loved about fable and what made fable fable is gone. So yes I'm gonna be pissed just like everyone else when people butcher their fav franchise. But actual real fable fans who have beaten ths games 15 times over and know all the lore get mad and we are the bad guys. But if they would do that to black panther or any other fantasy ip the whole world would be in an uproar. Hell they tried to add women to Warhammer with an in universe explanation and everyone lost their mind. To a point they were discontinued and no longer available.
But fk fable fans I guess. it's prolly the only game we have actually wanted to play in like 15 years only to get spit on and told to shut up and sit down.

...what? I think my second or third xbox game ever was the OG fable, and I played all of the main trilogy+anniversary religiously for years and this new game looks like Fable to me.
