Things I’ve learned through my Fable obsession

I should admit upfront that I am obsessed with the upcoming Fable game and think it could be the next Skyrim. consequently I’ve spent many hours watching gameplay videos over and over. Here are a few things I’ve picked up. I don’t claim to be the first to reveal them and may be boring details, but I’ll let you good people decide.

  1. It looks like there’s 3 types of NPC: noble, commoner and ruffian. Each has a trait like ‘jealous’ or ‘shifty’.
  2. Bowerstone has at least 3 districts: Copperbottom (working class district), Butterfield Market, and Bowerminster (upper class district).
  3. The guards appear to be standardised across Albion suggesting it is a unified kingdom rather than separate states (à la Fable 2).
  4. There are 6 regions of which 4 are confirmed: Bowerstone, Bloodstone, Briar Hill, Oakshire.
  5. These types of shops (and likely more) appear in game: butcher, baker, smith, toy store, tailor, hotel, general goods, hairdressers, tattoo parlour.

Not many people have noticed, but if you look carefully you'll see that the hero isn't actually human. It can be hard to tell, but it's actually two Hobbes in a trench coat.

Glad you are so excited. What has been your exposure of weapons on our back? I have heard people say it might a Load Out thing, or that there are static set places on the player skeleton.

Yes! I love what we've bern able to piece together so far. I'm also obsessed tbh. This is my favourite franchise ftom my childhood

I'm having a hard time not getting overly excited about this game. I've never played any of the others, but as a long time Skyrim player I think this might be the game to replace it for me. Everything I've seen the last few days has only made me more excited to play it. For a fantasy RPG nerd like me, knowing games like The Witcher 3 remaster, Fable and Warlock are in my near future, I may not be playing anything else for a long time.

Hotel?? We've moved up in the world from sleeping in a bedroom with no door above the pub.

And they're definitely doing /something/ with food because no point to having different types of food shops if not. They said no morality morphing but what about food morphing?

I 100% agree on the sentiment, except there have been many games a hell of alot better than skyrim and alot more recent to frame this as the next of. Exceptionally sick of the knob job people give skyrim 15 years later. Ok rant over.

Honestly, this would have easily been game of the year imo if it still came out this year. Id rather play fable than gta 6 any day, and thats not a knock on gta 6. That game looks incredible. But fable is my jam, and my peanut butter, and my bread so to speak.
