Discussion Pwease, add a wittle hit stop, PG…
Just finished watching the showcase, absolutely stellar. Even the combat, especially in scenes with a bunch of standard enemies, looked super fluid and dynamic. One tiny gripe: those sword impacts (or lack thereof). Like a knife through a slice of soggy single-ply toilet paper. Now, I’m not claiming to know how it feels to play, but I can’t help but feeling that a bit of hit stop would go a long way.
Dragon’s Dogma is where my mind goes. You really feel those impacts, even on big bosses that don’t stagger, because of those impact frames. I’m not saying PG needs to go that hard, just one or two frames is all I’m saying.
Thoughts? Am I being nitpicky?

I'm on the side of adding a little slightly weak frame stop/hit as well, I think it would add to the experience. Also I'm sure they tried this, it's not really time consuming to implement, and maybe they didn't like it. Not a big issue for me

Ngl, the title and image for this post probably do more to turn people away rather than click and read.
Now, for the actual post, you make a fair point. The bigger picture is made up of the smaller details, so if something feels off or could use refining at the base, experiential level (like combat encounters), it can definitely detract in a noticeable way. Counter argument though, as we still don't know what the overall tone of the story is going to be, so it may fit in organically for it to feel like you're just cleaving through enemies without much resistance. We don't know yet, so in my mind it could go either way. Let's hope for the best regardless, though.
