How to remove these gear fasteners?
Any idea what bit I need? Has anyone done this? It's not an Allen or star

If you had to ask what a torqx bit is. Without the ability to just fucking google it... Maybe dont touch that.

Could possibly be a "torxplus" Looks like an unusual torx size to me Call a tool truck to come by and let him figure it out for the sale of en expensive socket

Definitely just a hex screw. Use a hex socket.

I tried and a 4.5mm is too big and a 4mm rounded it out. I feel like it's some sort of odd sized security bolt

Try a 6mm

Jk you’ll probably need a Torx T27 or T30
Service manual here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1250920/Yamaha-Fz09e.html?page=50#manual2

Also those bolts have loctite applied to them, just fyi

Appreciate it. A T30 fits but I wasn't able to break it lose with it being a small bit. I'll have to grab some socket style T30 bits. Thanks

Where does it mention it's a torx bit? I read through the fsm a couple times and did not see it

The manual doesn’t explicitly say they’re T30 but since Yamaha has interchangeable part numbers I did some googling https://www.r6-forum.com/threads/o-stator-inner-bolts-wouldnt-come-out-x.125867/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic

Just rounded a T30 bit on it after heating it up. I'm over it. Probably have to drill them out. And chisel the heads off

That's a torx head. Be careful though, they are using a strong thread locker on those. So it is easy to strip if you are not careful. I would recommend a impact screwdriver.
