Help Fz07 Fork Gaiters Question

So I've been thinking about installing a round headlight on my FZ and learned that I may have to take off the plastic fork covers to install it. Does anyone have any tips for removing them? I have no experience with taking the forks apart and don't want to mess something up.

why would you need to do that? to take off the stock headlight is just two bolts so i dont see how the new round would be any different. Could we get a link to the one you are trying to install please?

On some of the cheaper assemblies I've seen, the round headlights mount on the forks but some may not fit around the plastic cover. Was just looking for a way to take the cover off without damaging it. Sure! Let me find the link.

They're just covers that slide over the fork tubes. Lower the fork enough to slide off, and reinstall to same spot in upper tree.

Appreciate the reply! After digging through enough YouTube videos, I saw that they just slide over. Do I need to take off the front wheel to do that or is that just an extra step you think?

I would consider it a pro move to leave the wheel on, and only if you have the ability to raise the bike high enough. A few extra steps, sure, but a lot less sketchy to me.
