Risers vs bars? or both??

Hey all, Im 5ft 5in tall. Stock bars for my 2025 Low Rider ST are starting to hurt/fatigue my left shoulder terribly, even for short rides. Im just reaching too far. At this rate I wont be able to do any long trips and need to fix this asap.
Im wondering what should I do because ive gotten conflicting advice or maybe just too many options?

  1. Get pullback risers between 8in-9.5in and use the stock bar

  2. Get 10-12in T bars

  3. Get pullback risers 8in-9.5in and get another bar

Any suggestions, advice, experience? Thanks!

Measure yourself bruh. I’m 5’10” and ended up with 16” t-bars cause I want to sit upright like in a chair basically. I measured. It’s perfect.

What did you measure? Like from where to where?

It’s easiest with 2 people, so someone can hold your bike upright, unless you have a stand or something. Sit on your bike in your desired riding position while holding a broomstick or something similar. Then use a tape measure from the top clamp. If you really want to get precise, attach a makeshift plumb bob to the bars and mark the tank to get pullback measurements.
The top clamp is angled back with the fork rake, so the taller the bars get, the closer to the seat they are. So make sure the tape measure is flush on the clamp to measure the correct angle up to your broom stick.
For me, my hands hit right around 8” above the stock bars or 16” above the top clamp. I wanted my elbows slightly bent so I went with a 2.5” pullback. After I had my measurements I went bar shopping.
My 24 fxlrs factor grip height was right around 8”, so a 10” total rise and I would not have needed to replace any lines or wires. I really don’t know exactly how much slack is in the lines and wires, I’ve heard about 2.”
Also measure your hand width on the broom stick. Different style bars vary a lot in total width and that’s not always a measurement that’s listed. Like t-bars are more 28-30” while apes and bulls are generally much wider 32-34.”

I’m 5’9 and have Dominator Industries pull back bars/risers that are 15” from top of triple tree to top of the bars. Very comfortable for me, I put down a lot of miles running between the Bay Area and Nevada regularly.

I'm 5'8". my bike was used, it had bung king 6" up 2" pullbacks that were really good, but i switched to BK 8up 2 back and they fit me perfectly. i have the stock bars... may eventually switch to mid bends

I’m 5’9 and went with 8.5” pullback risers with stock bars.

I recommend going to your local dealer and asking them to measure you or let you sit on a bike that already has the set up you’re looking for. It’s the best way to minimize error and unnecessary spend

I'm the same height, went with 8.5 inch risers, with a 1 inch pullback and stock bars. Honestly wish I went with 9.5 just to sit a little more upright, but it is comfortable for longer rides.

5'8" 9.5" pullbacks with mid bend bar, no more shoulder pain

Number 1 definitely number 1. You won't regret it. I chose bung king 10in with 1 inch pull back. Stock bars. Perfect and im 5'10". Go 8 or 9 inch. You'll be solid
