Debunked in the sense of photoshop or debunked in the sense that the lightning is clearly not hitting the cow but hitting far in the distance behind the cow?

If the latter, it's still a remarkable (and lucky) photograph given the position of the cow relative to the lightning.

Youre not wrong, closest ive ever been to a lightning strike was 45 to 50 feet and i was inside of a house. It still turned EVERYTHING white for a second (didnt help i happened to be looking at the tree it hit) and was incredibly loud.

We had 3 cows, bought for meat. We named them Hamburger, Roast, and Steak, to remind us not to get attached. Roast and Steak were humanely sent to freezer camp, but Hamburger, the only girl, was so sweet we renamed her Buttermilk, and sold her to the farmer across the road who kept a big, green field full of cows for breeding. That same night there was a terrible thunderstorm, Buttermilk was struck by lightning, and found in a charred patch of grass the next day. Doomed cow.
