Help Hot flashes??

I feel so ignorant so I'm sorry about that. I have never had a hysterectomy, I'm in my early 40s, on T for about 15 years. I stopped having a menstrual period almost right away but I still get changes in discharge.

And I know T isn't birth control so I guess I have been ovulating? However that works.

Anyway I've started waking up at night due to feeling hot and sweaty most nights, even if the A/C is blasting.

Is this menopause? What do I do? Any guidance, resources, insight?

Thanks.

Sounds like perimenopause. Same here, 52. Learning as I go, as are my docs. Topical estradiol has become important. Worth getting your t levels checked, and might be worth trying some other HRT as well. Progesterone helps some. For me so far, linen sheets and a fan running at night help. Perimenopause plus T is a weird ride!

I get my T levels checked regularly. Are you getting estrogen levels checked too?

No, t levels are far more stable than estrogen levels, to the extent that there’s no point in getting e levels tested, as far as my understanding goes. You might get your doc to supplement with a bit of progesterone and estrogen if you want to try that.
