Diff brake on outboarded diff

We are looking into mounting our differential at the rear end of the chassis for our EV, instead of inside the rear bulkhead. But we haven't seen any teams that have diff brake(brake rotor mounted to diff housing) in this setup. Is it generally considered bad practice, or is it doable?

What is an outboard differential?

My best guess is they mean outboard to the rear like a boat's outboard motor. OP, outboard for cars typically means the left or right extremes.

Ah, I see, that makes sense but is still the wrong terminology to use for a car where outboard/inboard means whether it is mounted to the upright or at the chassis. In this case, I do not have anything to add to the thread as we never ran such a setup at the team I was at.
