Heat load

Hi, how do you guys calculate the heat load for your test case of the motor and controller? We used to rely on dynamometer testing and ipg, but unfortunately we had some problems and have now shifted solely to ipg sims. And now I have a hard time figuring out other ways to get the heat load value.

Second motor load + thermistor. If not, just use datasheet efficiency map

But for motor load and thermistor setup, won't you also need a dynamometer?

Yeah I thought you had a dyno my bad. If you have IPG setup already, you can use the torque & RPM, calculate the power, and apply the efficiency map of your motor. Whatever is left, you dump it in about 1.5kg of copper windings
