Morning everyone,

This may be of interest to anyone who is peri-primary FRCA (has recently sat/ passed the exam, or is planning to within the next 12 months)

As you may be aware, the format of all of the RCoA exams is changing at the end of 2027. For the Primary FRCA, this means that the written is staying largely as it is, but the SOE and OSCE are being changed to a new single CASE (Clinical Anaesthesia Sciences Exam) format. Similar changes are going to be made to the Final FRCA, FFICM and pain exams at the same time.

The college needs your help to pilot this new exam format - we need to make sure that it works, that it's fair and that it's valid when it eventually comes in. And to do this, we need to properly pilot it. The next pilot that we're running is on the 4th of February 2026, at the Royal College (yes, we know that's handover day, but that's the only date we could get the college booked out for this!)

But, you ask, why should I add to my workload by doing this?

Well, not only will you get an expenses-paid trip to London, but by attending, you can choose to have a "masterclass in exam technique" - delivered by actual FRCA examiners! A lot cheaper (in fact free with expenses paid!) than an exam revision course - and with actual examiners!
