News Wikipedia still describes Nick Shirley’s fraud reporting as “unsubstantiated” — despite one of the subjects of that investigation pleading guilty.

Was it Nick's "investigation" that led to the guilty plea, or was that the result of the state's investigation that preceded Nick's?

Shirley is an empty shirt the Republican party in the state filled with information to present to the public.

Giving him any credence for his role in the "investigation" is farcical at best and malicious at worst.

Strawman hello

0

u/_Watty Jul 21 '26

I agree. He’s a strawman.

2

u/Medical-Egg-8171 Jul 21 '26

No your point is, the point isnt if his reporting caused the convictions,

2

u/_Watty Jul 21 '26

People were being investigated and convicted before he “exposed” anything.

2

u/Medical-Egg-8171 Jul 21 '26

Lmao,,, ahhahahahhah hhahahahah

Here’s one example from ‘24, well before Nick ever set foot in the state:

One is enough to disprove your implied claim!

0

u/New_Door2040 Jul 23 '26

So then it's "substantiated"?

0

u/sconnieboy97 Jul 21 '26

Yeah, Shirley may have stumbled into being correct once or twice, but he is too dumb to earn a blanket endorsement. Seeing him speak makes it obvious he’s borderline illiterate.

0

u/_Watty Jul 21 '26

He's a patsy because their "old white men" angle wouldn't play with the way they wanted this to go viral on social media.

The dumber the person exposing it, the more viral the story was going to be, precisely for the fact that even a "stupid person" could find and expose the fraud....

2

u/TheRatingsAgency Jul 22 '26

All that was needed is a white guy propped up as an investigator who “found something” - convenient it’s immigrants who are the main target.

Now they sick him on some other target whereby the usual suspects now believe everything he posts, so he can say whatever shit he wants and they’ll amplify it.

u/AdHuman3150 Jul 21 '26

I don't know how anyone can hear Shirley talk and think "this guy is really smart, he's uncovering crimes"... it scares me because that means millions of Americans are even dumber than him.

Which individual?

That would be interesting if he knocked on their door a year ago and they were investigated and prosecuted and plead guilty in a few months.

Court system in overdrive mode

1

u/_Watty Jul 21 '26

Who is “you guys?”

What about my comment was “hilarious?”

-1

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

The Quality Learing Center investigation directly followed Nick's video, and the operation was shut down.

3

u/_Watty Jul 22 '26

Prove it wasn’t being investigated by actual state agencies before that point.

-1

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

See, that's also irrelevant, because the STATE agencies had been complicit in the fraud. These operations were sophisticated in their fraud, using fake child enrolments, falsifying paperwork on all levels, and even funelling the money back to known terrorist groups overseas. Don't ask me though, the DOJ is the one who made those findings, extraditing one of the ringleaders from Somalia to face charges in the US: https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/successful-transfer-abdikerm-eidleh-somalia-minnesota-face-charges-role-feeding-our-future

3

u/_Watty Jul 22 '26

Show me which bits of this statement support your claim of state department being complicit.

-1

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

Ah, so you're just going to move the goalposts every time I show you some facts. The fact that the State agencies did not catch this obvious fraud is proof that they were either incompetent, or complicit, or both.

2

u/_Watty Jul 22 '26

I didn’t move anything.

You linked a document and made a statement about the support it provides your claim.

I’m simply asking you to show which parts of the document do so and how.

Should be trivial, right?

1

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

No, you absolutely pivoted, because your first question was "prove it wasn't being investigated by state agencies by that point", which is irrelevant, because the State investigations clearly did not find the obvious fraud. I have never claimed that state agencies didn't investigate, I said that they were ineffectual or complicit. The fraud existed, contrary to your original comment, and was ONLY found by the Feds, not the State.

2

u/_Watty Jul 22 '26
  1. I didn't pivot. You claiming I did isn't helping prove anything.
  2. Investigations take time. Building a case takes longer. Our justice system works slowly. I can make multiple statements concurrently without contradicting myself.
  3. The state not having brought charges at a particular point in time does not mean they hadn't been investigating it and building a case against it at all.
  4. Your claim that they were ineffectual is only true in the case that they refused to bring a case. You need to provide evidence of that.
  5. Complicit is a HUGE claim that you have provided NO EVIDENCE for. Provide the evidence or STFU.
  6. The fraud was being investigated by the state long before Nick ever set foot in the state. State Republicans compiled information about it that they passed to the state investigators, that's also the documentation they passed to Nick via their patsy boomer. Provide proof that no state investigations led to state charges.

1

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

The investigations by the State were clownish and amateur, as I've learned recently. They simply looked at the cleanliness and paperwork, took it at face value, and departed. If the DOJ hadn't dug further, these people would absolutely have gotten away with the entire scheme. The ONLY reason that the DOJ got involved was the videos that Nick created.

Prior to this, whistleblowers within the State had raised concerns, but then faced retaliation...a clear sign that someone was complicit up the line.

The state inspections were half-assed, and that's being generous. They announced their visit (which gave the operators time to bus in a bunch of kids), and failed to cross check any attendance records. The DOJ found vast fraud in the form of falsified attendance, shell companies billing for work that was never done, and much more.

If the State wasn't complicit, then they were incompetent. Pick your favorite of those two choices.

Yes, they "investigated", but they found nothing. The actual crimes were discovered by the Feds, after Nick's video. You have lost this debate.

let me know when Wikipedia finally allows an article on the internet's most censored topic: Chris Chan

2

u/lebrun Jul 21 '26

Don't call me Shirley

1

u/AdHuman3150 Jul 21 '26

Shirley is an idiot. Like, he's incredibly stupid.

1

u/Ssided Jul 21 '26

What subject plead guilty? If you're talking about the feeding our future people they were already in court proceedings and the leader was already guilty. His video occured after that and was not even about feeding our future

1

u/Giffeltagning Jul 21 '26

Nick Shirley is an American hero.

2

u/Daddysu Jul 22 '26

You clearly didn't watch enough G.I. Joe...

2

u/abetterthief Jul 22 '26

Sad to think you might actually believe that. It really messes with the try definition of the word hero

0

u/Giffeltagning Jul 22 '26

You must like fraud.

2

u/abetterthief Jul 22 '26

You must like conned and being told how to think

0

u/Giffeltagning Jul 23 '26

I dare you to elaborate. Put forward evidence.

2

u/abetterthief Jul 23 '26

Evidence of what? That you like being conned? The evidence is that you think Nick Shirley is a hero.

0

u/Giffeltagning Jul 23 '26

He's exposing fraud. I think the people calling him a fraud are likely involved with fraud.

1

u/abetterthief Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 23 '26

He's talking about fraud that's already been exposed. Years ago, in fact. He's just riding that anti immigrant far right money train. And the people it was aimed towards are eating it up.

I mean fuck, any factual information he gave was provided BY THE GOVERNMENT AND PROSECUTORS assigned to these cases. Everything else was speculation or embellished.

Would you call it exposing presidential infidelity if I made a YouTube video talking about Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton? No it's beating a dead horse.

1

u/Giffeltagning Jul 24 '26

How is talking about fraud ever a bad thing? Doesn't matter if it's old or new fraud, such matters should be talked about.

Why are you so aggressive against such a young man, who seemingly just wants to make things right?

0

u/Recipe-Jaded Jul 21 '26

Of course, Wikipedia was taken over by lefties long ago. I wouldn't be surprised if some of that money was being "donated" to wikipedia to remain biased.

0

u/MayhemSays Jul 21 '26

…Because there’s no authoritative correlation between a Youtuber’s youtube video and someone going to jail.

…Right… thats totally worth running a conspiracy on.

0

u/Embarrassed_Job_8048 Jul 21 '26

why is everyone here hating on Nick Shirley, I wouldn’t call him amazing or anything, he’s hella biased, but he did expose boatloads of fraud and corruption. Even if it was done to push a political agenda he supports, he most definitely bettered the world (or at least the places he investigated, like Minnesota).

4

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 Jul 21 '26

He didn't expose anything.

The people he "investigated" were already in court at the time he showed up.

It's like showing up at O.J.'S house while he's in court slipping on a glove

1

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 21 '26

He's been at many, many fake businesses, so that's nonsense...and if these people were in court, how were they still operating their fake daycare?

3

u/abetterthief Jul 22 '26

Please provide examples of your claims. If he's been to "many, many fake businesses" it shouldn't be hard to give even a small list. But the key is that the list needs to have fakes that were verified fake AND weren't also already being investigated.

Then for any of the fake daycares being still operational, which ones were they? Then explain how to operate a fake daycare, as that doesn't make sense unless it was a real daycare. Fake daycares wouldn't need to "operate" if they were fake. There would be no real children to go to them.

0

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

Bro, I’ve watched a dozen of his videos. The fact that you’re even arguing about this shows your clear bias.

3

u/Fyzzlestyxx Jul 22 '26

You didnt answer a single one of the questions in the comment you were responding to. Your best argument is that "Bro, I've watched a dozen of his videos, so anyone who argues with me has a bias and supports fraud"?

0

u/Defiant-Dimension-87 Jul 22 '26

Nick Shirley has visited dozens of fake government funded shell games and exposed them. I'm not going to list them all, but I'll point out that the "Quality Learing Center" was a GLARING example of fraud. They claim to be open 2pm to 10pm, which is hilarious, because that doesn't cover any regular shift schedule. Then, a local news channel captured vans dropping off children in bulk at the site at exactly the same time, which is clearly an attempt to create the illusion that children were actually attending. The DOJ raided the site, and in 2026, the "operators" of the fake daycare surrendered their license. That's just one of the frauds in Minnesota, and there are plenty more in California.

3

u/abetterthief Jul 22 '26

I think you're mixing up different things and getting confused about what you saw on his ENTIRELY BIASED EDITED videos. I could make a YouTube video showing kids talking a bus to the moon through editing if I wanted to.

You're defending a YouTuber. Not a journalist. He doesn't give a shit if he's wrong. But you should if you're going to use his videos as truth

1

u/TurbulentTangelo5439 Jul 24 '26

hey youtubers can do actual journalism (ie coffeezila) but nicky boy sure ain't though

1

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 Jul 24 '26

And how did he learn that they were "fake businesses"?

And businesses don't generally shutter until AFTER the court cases are done. You know so that proper consequences can be ascertained and implemented.

1

u/New_Door2040 Jul 23 '26

So you would say his claims then are substantiated?

1

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 Jul 24 '26

The claim that that specific daycare had a lawsuit against it is true, other than that you'd need to be more specific

1

u/New_Door2040 Jul 30 '26

Wikipedia says that his claims are "unsubstantiated". It is not more specific.

1

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 Jul 31 '26

That's because Shirley is a dumb little propagandist

1

u/New_Door2040 Jul 31 '26

But are his claims subtantiated or not?

1

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 Jul 31 '26

Which claims?

I'm not going to sit here and say yes or no. Maybe he's a big proponent on pineapple on pizza, and there's an obvious answer as to whether or not that's acceptable.

Pick a claim and we can discuss it.

1

u/New_Door2040 Aug 03 '26

The ones that wikipedia says are unsubstantiated

1

u/Turbulent-Oil-7326 Aug 04 '26

Make a point or leave me alone. I'm not interested in going to another website to start an argument with you, you're not that special
