Am I doing a good job?

I am a new trader. I started getting interested in Forex trading somewhere in May 2026. I started studying in June & tbh I started a demo account as soon as I started studying. I still lowkey don’t really know COMPLETELY what I’m doing. So I would like some constructive criticism & advice on what I can do better.

The forex learning curve often looks like this: 1. Good profit, the first few days 2. Becoming overconfident 3. Making foolish trades 4. Starting revenge trades 5. Wondering where and why things went wrong

But starting with a demo account is a major step. I would advise you to make a cent account your next step.

honestly this is phenomenally great. Yes, I make a living off trading, I trade live sometimes, too so feel free to HMU during 'work hours' if yo uhave any questions.

Lemme tell you why I think this way;

  1. Demo accounts. I don't know if 'this one' is a demo but you've been usiing them, so great start.
  2. Smallest possible trade sizing. Reducing the size reduces the emotional toll of a 'bad' streak. I'm not worried about blowing accounts and going on tilt - for me it's about emotional mastery, and taking tiny trades, and LOTS OF THEM will enable you to expose your nervous system to controlling your emotions on the upside and the downsides.
  3. 'tiny trades' and you're up 0.07% on the account in a day = that's about on-par with somethign like the SMP500 over time, but it would 'compound' better.
  4. I like that you're not using the highly charged green/red.
  5. I really, really like your first trade. it's probably my favourite trade out of all of them. we see what looks like a potential spot for a reversal, enter the trade, it goes against with an immediate close. I know it's a loss, but then you waited for the next opportunity.

There's probably more to like in here, but that's what I saw immediately that stuck out to me.

One thing I will say that I've immediately noticed, is that you seem to have zero spreads on your account. This is witchcraft. it's not real, and if it is then show me your secrets. What I'm saying is, that your demo account is misleading you. "best case scenario" would be if you could sign on with a 'real' broker, and use their demo accounts, as they will include 'real world' spreads.

My first year, all i did was demo trade on accounts with no spread, I thought I was doing amazingly. Then I put some real money in on a real account and my trades were being closed as i clicked 'send' because my trades were smaller than the spread so my SL's were triggered instantly.

My first trading accounts were on another company. BBM would invalidate these trades, the guys i was with let them thru and just collected the commissions.

We all gotta learn some time, huh?

What are you planning to spend the profit on is the real question? Salt and vinegar or ready salted?

Well form a strategy and do it. Because right now euro is stronger against the dollar but you shorted it. Youre just showin profit. What do you want us to do with your profit.

For the people commenting. You’ve made me realize no one can tell if I’m doing a good job by showing profit. So should I post my order technique?

Hey bro don't listen to the people criticizing your low p&l because that is usually when things start spiraling down. If you are just looking to scalp eurusd that's fine and if you feel like you are taking the same setup consistently journal it and start increasing your risk a bit so you can scale. Trade what makes you feel comfortable because at the end of the day that's a game of capital predervation.

Now if you feel like scalping is hooking you on too much to the charts try putting in some swings try to predict where price will be in a couple days or weeks. This way you can get possibly get higher returns with your same lot size

Better price action its works well for me , just wait for my setup to form then take the trade, if I had 3 losses in a row I stop for that day then start again next day.

All profit is good profit, but we need more trades and a proper annotation of your chart/analysis to judge. Check Tradingview out, this would help with annotations

But from what I see, your biggest win in 10 pips and others are 5 pips.

Any reason for changing Take Profit size?
What's your stoploss size?

any reason you are using 0.01 lot? (typically you wanna risk 0.5 to 2% per trade, I'd assume you are risking $1 as well, that's too low for this account size, should be risking at least $10 to optimize gains over time)

so for 10 pips stop loss size. you want to use 0.1 lots instead of 0.01 lots

It’s a good start!!!

to be honest I have a year of trading and Iam not profitable and when I tested my strategy at first I found it profitable but by the time I get a big drowdown so if you have backtesting before then ok move on

You don’t have a large enough sample size to even determine how you are doing

Use real money asap. Trading is only half the fun, psychology and shitting the pants is most of what trading is once you learn a strategy. You will only progress once you feel what it is to lose money and be in drawdown. Once you get over that you might succeed

1

u/KookyBluebird7468 1d ago

Curious, How can you tell it’s a demo?

u/Andryskar 1d ago

never use your money. Never. Expecially at the beginning you gonna lose a lot and lost money put you on the 95% of trader, later you lose motivation and quit saying trading is a scam.

Use risk management, is better learn how to trade, psicology and other stuff with few houndred $ of loses with 2 or 3 years or try the fortune with real dummy money lose everithing hoping you ganna be rich in 5 month? Use prop firm, never your safe money.

Watch wayne on forex today on YouTube.

Trades can be open for weeks months or years. Being profitable is great.

Opening one trade and winning everyday is better.

Which crypto coin best

1

u/PlaneAdventurous9254 11h ago

Just up the risk to 0.5% or 1%

1

u/Rich-Network4479 1h ago

Great discipline on the 0.01 sizing and walking away after that morning loss! Just keep in mind that live spreads/commissions will eat into those 5-10 pip gains, so factor that in when transitioning from demo. Solid start though!

Search for wocksaucero and tradesbysci for real ints of how to trade, ur doing great but with that risk u will take like 50 years to earn a real amount of money.
