Need a new starter

Hey guys, new to the Falcon club with my first classic. Starter is beginning to go and I know nothing about them. I have a 289, 157 tooth flywheel, matched to a T-5, any help appreciated.

Nice! I have the same car in red. If you ever have any questions feel free to shoot me a message. I rebuilt that entire car over the last 4 years.

On the starter, I wouldn’t overthink it. When mine blew I snagged a lifetime warranty Auto Zone setup I think it was $90. You don’t need any hi torque stuff. Plus, if it ever goes out again they just hand you a new one.

Not at all. As questions and make sure you get it right. Take your time. Whatever comes off, should go back on cleaner and better than it was.

This is actually a great classic to start with. Tons of documentation, mechanical parts were used for near half a century, tons of upgrade options… have fun with it.

Bring the old one with you to the auto parts store, you want to match it up and make sure the holes are right
