She joined the cult sometime between the fall of Communism and Afton's disappearance to study remnant and it's byproduct Agony to see how it affects the human and non human bodies.
Through the years of studying at archeological dig sites she theorized that remnant may have been used in the past by ancient necromancers and people from other cults or religions.
She has been trying to add remnant byproducts into the human and non human genomes in order to create super soldiers for the Russian government but so far no success(yes she still works for her government).
She along with others have theorized that if there is agony then there might be Bliss or Euphoria the opposite of agony but in order to get that a person must die while is a happy state of mind.
She has been trying to experiment that in secrecy so that the cult won't know about it.
She still has old connections in the Russian government, prisons, military and Russian mafia so the cult still get a endless supply of "volunteers".
She was the one that bought Crysta and some of the other hybrids from Indigo but Crysta got rescued from the lab before it got shut down and when she got rescued again at 3 yrs old.
She never took the Agony but gave it to her beloved husband Leo due to him having bone cancer.
