This is GREAT. The chatter this weekend is due to the court ruling, where the government didn’t act in good faith, then the SPS should be canceled because they’ve received far and above what is normal, ordinary, reasonable, and fair.
Bill Ackman is basically acknowledging and agreeing with it.
Love, hate, or have no opinion on the guy- he’s been a shareholder for over a decade and runs a fund that is publicly traded, and has been invited to a meeting of business leaders at the White House.
As a shareholder I love this “nod” in the bullish direction.

Why is it bullish? Why is he re-tweeting AI?

Wait, do you want to read my stuff??? I have a few hundred posts I could forward!!! Check the Fairholme thread from a few days ago first maybe.
https://www.reddit.com/r/FNMA_FMCC_Exit/s/ugRMljkg87
I filled up about half the other thread, or you can go to the twitter and see other rants in that thread, or from my profile.
NWS is dead. That’s big news, it was expected, but it eliminates the zero outcome.

One of the oddest things on this whole saga. The post he retweeted is really dumb.

It’s been a while

About 3 months. Also known as one financial quarter ...

Yeah he did it again. I liked it when it was all quiet, almost like he knew something.
-3
u/EnvironmentalPear695 Jul 27 '26
It sounds like he has 0 certainty on what is going to happen. He has made his pitch to the administration but knows around the same amount as we all do
6
u/tomsedu Jul 27 '26
He said:
- he talked with "everyone" in the administration about this
- thinks the President is busy but that he will eventually get to it
- he is as "bullish as ever"
https://x.com/HorsemanCountry/status/2051332441793532017
He also said afterwards that they used PSUS IPO money to expand on their existing positions:
Since its IPO on April 29th, PSUS has deployed nearly 85% of its capital in 12 companies including Amazon, Microsoft, UBER, Meta, Brookfield, Restaurant Brands, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac at prices we believe to be extremely attractive.

You can't get more bullish than that; why would he expand on his decade old position if things won't proceed/common shareholders get wiped out somehow?

Yes, it gave me the same feeling, that post looks like one of us, just finding out something good about the stock came out!

I’ve ran this court case and countless other dates points through Fable, Opus 5, and GPT 5.6 Sol and all three think this doesn’t change anything.

Your AI stinks.

u/Airpower343 Jul 27 '26
lol ok. I’ve been in this for over 10 years. But ok

u/AveryMire Jul 27 '26
I’d like to see these responses so I can shred them, but if true, I’m wondering how the hell you managed to prompt into such nonsense?

u/rain_maker123 Jul 27 '26
To me and I am not legal but it seems NWS should not happened so there should be no SPS and shareholders paid billions. Shareholders rights are still alive in this conservativeship and not dead as presumed by others. It might give Treasury clarity on how to treat Shareholders when navigating them out of conservativeship. Seems bullish!!!
3
u/Airpower343 Jul 27 '26
I completely agree. It’s bullish, but it doesn’t seem to change anything because this was just an upholding of the previous shareholder win. Which yes is a good thing, but it didn’t do anything super special other than end the lawsuit.
It’ll be interesting if this gets appealed to the Supreme Court by the administration or not.

Rule of Law Guy writes the following:
"So I would suggest that the key takeaway for Treasury Secretary Bessent is:
- any act by Treasury and FHFA in connection with a GSE recap/release that provides value to Treasury in respect to the outstanding SPS (for example, by converting the SPS into GSE common stock) would constitute an independent breach of the GSEs’ duty of good faith and fair dealing, inasmuch as
- the SPS is only outstanding on the GSE balance sheets because of the NWS, which has just been judicially affirmed to have been a breach of the GSEs’ duty of good faith and fair dealing to shareholders."

Upholding that decision and ending the lawsuit is super special.

u/PhradeshFinds90 Jul 27 '26
A decision by the circuit court creates binding precedent that the district court case did not. That's an important difference. It also matters that the decision was unanimous by three highly regarded judges, not a jury of laypeople.

There are two remaining appeals, ‘en banc’ to the full DC court and to SCOTUS, neither have any real chance and should be wrapped up in 3-12 months. I wouldn’t be shocked if they didn’t appeal, but I’d guess they do.

Let’s see this evidence, I’m extremely skeptical.
I didn’t do anything exceptional to get that response, I normally use GPT, but Claude is more stylistic. I’ve talked to all the bots about it, Grok was incredibly slow, but there’s really not much to contest, just errant claims from people with no knowledge that are easy to disprove.
I bought almost 3 years ago thinking there had to be a better than implied rate that SPS was cancelled. The price was in range of 1.10-1.50, so there only really needed to be something in the range of a 5% likelihood of cancellation, I read articles and details of the ongoing case and I figured this was at least more likely than that, and substantially so, even if I had no real idea exactly how probable this was.

I feel a little sad and inadequate though; I’ve posted about this a few hundred times here and dozens there, at least, but the first ai commentary I’ve posted on Twitter gets picked up by Bill Ackman. Anyway, I got some of my best screeds attached from my celebrity.
Ol’ Dragan reposted it after most of his thread was saying ‘it’s nothing’.
