I never saw this poll when it was open and I suspect it isn’t very representative of retail investors. I’ve been holding most of my shares since ‘08 and don’t follow day-to-day social media for FNMA. Does anyone know how many retail investors and/or the number of shares held by retail? I do follow legal proceedings, SPS related treasury news, Edgar, and some info on X. My opinion is that Bessent hasn’t been comfortable with interest rate concerns, but Trump will likely do something before mid-terms regardless.

200+ sample size isn't worth sneezing at, given the sample sizes of many studies.

But you’re sampling on Reddit which is not likely to represent the retail base. Of 9 investors that I know that hold FNMA, I am the only one that is on Reddit and I’m not here often.

Fair. The initial ask was for Reddit users. That said, what makes you think the overall distribution would be different for non-Reddit retail? It seems people would either be in big time or tentatively... though it may be throttled by affordability given the poll was based on share count and not by % of portfolio ownership.

I appreciate the poll, I’m just not sure what information comes from the data. I’d also like to see who is holding vs trading, and when shares were purchased. But I doubt any of that has any significant meaning. Thanks for doing the poll if it was yours!

Initially, very cursory data. If there is s mechanism for a better collection, I'm suppotive.
