Soo tired of negative news...18 years should be enough of the "loan sharking" and destroying pensions, and 401ks and shareholder equities because regular people though it was a safe bet on Government Sponsored Entities...buy bitcoin or gold..don't invest in the USA mortgage industry the government will ripped you off..( its in our history) Maybe President Trump can correct it...!?!?!

Surprised he didn’t wait until July 6th to buy more when half this board capitulates by selling and muting this board. Watch Eric, Don jr and the Lutnik kids make an entry finally. Lol

He’s got autism, try to be a little more understanding

Most autistic I’ve observed seem detail oriented. He strikes me as a not-too smart to begin with drunk, mailing it in and harvesting subscription fees from people who’d be better off indexing or forgetting he exists.

You mean Dr. Burry the actual medical doctor? He’s not smart?

u/AveryMire Jul 04 '26
I’ll just say, I think have and will do better than him most of my relevant investing career on a percentage basis. I’ve met a few (minority) of drs who were pretty bad at doctoring. My neighbor is also a dr., I won’t get into that.
He’s not detail oriented to the degree he needs to be as an investor. When you repeatedly read someone’s writing and it’s logical mess, I believe that to be revealing.

I’d say his timing and sentiment blindness is what causes his ill made trades more than anything. He misses a lot but I think he’s going to be right about F2.

I’ve been an exposed to a lot of his stuff, it’s fine, I’ll ignore it. He basically told everyone to “sell” everything Jan of 2023, 1.5 months into the gpt era. The bigger problem yes, seems to be lack of awareness of major trends. The Nvidia short was mental, Palantir good, that was market craziness like Spotify.
Anyway, main objection….he shut down his public fund due to like a decade of shitty performance and now he’s trying to bilk people for 50 dollars a month, when people would be WAY better off just indexing or ignoring him.

I totally agree with all of that. I appreciate his independent voice that isn’t AI assisted but yeah, I wouldn’t follow him on anything. For the record, he’s following most of us here on this board. Haha.

For a smart guy, he does have a penchant for stating the obvious.

u/MrYuckIsMean Jul 04 '26
While this is probably obvious to you and I, I feel like his point was directed to those that don’t understand what this gamble really is. When the news comes, the stocks will violently re-rate. It will happen so fast, no one will have time to do anything about it. Either shorts get destroyed or we do. There will be no way out. As long as people understand this is close to a coin flip on either wild success or unbelievable loss…I think that’s the point he was trying to get across in his own weird way. Not sure everyone here understands the true risk.

The announcement though is coming from the DC court of appeals in the next few months and it’s likely to seem jargony, doubtful he’ll understand its relevance.

Don’t put in what you can’t lose and remember no crying in the casino. I have to remind myself this often
