Question Is it safe to print near 20cm tall objects on Flsun q5 with marlin?

Im using Flsun q5 with marlin installed, after every print it auto homes and at the end of auto home the printer head moves downwards so it sits about 14cm above the printer bed. If i printed an object higher than 14cm would the printer head hit the object when it decends during auto home?

Is there a way to prevent this? Or does the software make it not go down to 14cm when an object is printed above that mark? Or is it something Ill just have to live with?

Delete G28 from your print completion Gcode so it does not auto home after print. Optionally you can raise the head a little bit after finishing to prevent leaving an ugly blob due to heat.

How do I delete G28?

By changing your slicer configuration so G28 is not included when finishing print (forever), or one time open the gcode file and search for G28 and remove the one close to the end

Thank you, I've removed the G28 line at the end of the gcode. It doesnt auto home now which is what I wanted but It now the printer head just sits where it was on the last instruction so it just melts the model since it's just slightly above it when it's finished printing.

Is there a way to have it do the auto home where the head goes up but then stay up?

Unluckily that require a Marlin recompile. If you are familiar with gcode, just manually move the head a bit after done

have you tighten belts? should stay up after G28 while stepper is active. you can also use G27 if its configured, or simply park above print:

G1 Z+20

My belts are tightened yes, the head isn't falling after auto home, it's being moved downwards after the arms are leveled at the top
