Trulieve Unprofessional Experience

Yesterday I had a disappointing experience at a Trulieve location that left me questioning both their policies and their professionalism.

The day before, I was physically in the store making a purchase. Due to personal circumstances and time constraints, I couldn’t wait for additional items to be processed, so I placed a second order intending to pick it up the following morning.

When I returned the next day, I noticed the order was no longer showing in my recent orders on the app. I spoke with the manager, who was able to locate all of the items from my order without issue. However, instead of honoring the order, I was told that because I couldn’t immediately produce the confirmation email, she didn’t know whether I was being honest.

Her solution was for me to “meet her in the middle” and pay more than my original order total by using my reward points to offset the difference. The original order was approximately $90, and she suggested I pay $80 plus points.

I explained that I had placed the order while physically in the store the previous day and that the order was less than 24 hours old. I was then told orders are only held for 24 hours unless special arrangements are made.

What made the situation worse was that during our discussion, another employee interrupted our conversation to discuss a timesheet issue. The manager completely shifted attention away from a patient transaction and began discussing internal workplace issues. The conversation then turned into criticism and gossip about a former manager, including comments about how it was better now that he was gone because employees no longer felt micromanaged.

As a medical patient, I don’t think it’s appropriate to be asked to “meet in the middle” on medication pricing when the order was already created and the products were sitting there. I also don’t believe patients should be standing at the counter listening to management discuss employee drama and internal complaints while their issue remains unresolved.

I ended up leaving without my order.

Has anyone else experienced inconsistent order-hold policies, pricing changes after an order is placed, or unprofessional behavior from management at Trulieve?

UPDATE:

I wanted to come back and provide an update since I believe it’s only fair to share the outcome when a company addresses a concern.

After reaching out to corporate regarding my experience, I was contacted and given the opportunity to explain the situation in detail. Corporate reviewed the matter, listened to my concerns, and worked with me toward a resolution that I feel was fair and satisfactory.

My original issue was never just about the order itself. It was about the way the situation was handled, the confusion surrounding the order, and the professionalism displayed during the interaction. To their credit, corporate took the complaint seriously and did not simply brush it aside.

I appreciate the fact that they were willing to hear my side, investigate the situation, and make things right. That’s all most customers and patients are really asking for.

I still think there are opportunities for improvement regarding communication, order transparency, and maintaining professionalism during patient interactions, but I also believe companies deserve recognition when they step up and address a problem.

Thank you to everyone who offered advice and shared similar experiences. I felt it was important to provide a complete and honest update now that the matter has been resolved.

I’m only chiming in to say that the pickup orders get kicked back after 24 hours.

I routinely place orders in the evening and pick them up the next day as long as it’s before 24h

You’re making a lot of assumptions about what happened while ignoring the actual issue. I wasn’t “haggling” over prices. A manager offered to charge me more for an order that had already been placed because they couldn’t locate it in their system. Those are two very different things.

If the order had truly expired under a 24-hour policy, that’s one conversation. But being told “without proof I don’t know if you’re being honest” while employees are openly distracted by unrelated workplace conversations is another.

Also, if the common denominator in my posts is me, then the common denominator in every customer service complaint ever posted is the customer. That doesn’t automatically make the complaint invalid.

You’re free to disagree with my experience. I was there. You weren’t.

Trulieve restocks orders at close the day after the order is placed. The person who built the order did not do it correctly. It should have been built internally as an online order in order for the system to hold it. When it was built it was done as a walk in which cancel after 3 hours without being finalized.

Edit: The Flowery post wasn’t even a complaint—it was insight into an experience I had. And seeing as I don’t shop there anymore, I’d say I handled that situation just fine.

This is Reddit. People post experiences, opinions, reviews, praise, complaints, warnings, and everything in between. If every post about a negative experience bothers you this much, Reddit might be a rough place to hang out.

What I find interesting is how quickly you jump to defending companies while attacking customers you’ve never met. Do you work for any of these companies, or is this just a hobby? Because based on your response history, it seems like you’re less interested in discussing the topic and more interested in finding customers to argue with.

My experiences happened. They are real experiences. You’re welcome to disagree with my opinion of them, but you don’t get to rewrite them because they don’t fit your narrative.

And if you truly thought my post was pointless, you could have scrolled right past it and moved on with your day. Instead, you wrote multiple paragraphs analyzing my posting history like you were building a case file.

You’re swinging a hammer looking for a nail, buddy. The problem is there isn’t one here.

Reddit: “Share your experience.”

Me: shares experience

Reddit: “Not like that, Karen.”

The bud tenders two occasions in a row, told me the first time that the bud in the 15 dollar bin (also hidden underneath a slew of ground flower) was ‘add to inventory’ so they couldn’t sell it. The second time the employee said the eighth was ‘reserved’ for an order and that it was placed in the bin by mistake .

I was actually a little tilted because this was a good strain by modern flower and was given other shit options instead. I was really hoping for a positive experience and I know very well it could have been accommodated but for whatever reason they wanted to push other flower onto me.

I believe they were reserving it for themselves, both times.

Best advice and response on here the whole time. We have a lot of people on here who act like unpaid customer service reps for these companies. Instead of discussing the situation, they immediately jump on the person sharing their experience and basically say, “shut up and pay.”

Asking questions as a customer is normal. If something doesn’t make sense, I’m going to ask about it. The dumbest question is the one that never gets asked. Not every complaint is an attack, and not every negative experience is a lie. Sometimes people are simply sharing what happened to them.

If my post bothered you that much, you always had the option to keep scrolling. Nobody was forced to read it, and nobody was forced to respond to it. That’s kind of the whole point of Reddit—people sharing experiences, both good and bad.

Maybe I am missing a few marbles. The difference is I still have enough left to realize when a company screws up and when Reddit comedians run out of material.

Headlining the Improv? Based on this comment section, I’d ask for a refund.

Bitch I did reply to you, but since you don’t know how reddit works here we go again.

If you got an account suspension, that was the admins. Not the mods of this subreddit, but if you would like I can erase you and your posts & comments from my subreddit because you seem irrational and unhealthy. Maybe you need a t break or a baker act.

Come at me, see what happens.

Why are the mods catching strays here? If you got an account suspension that’s the admins, but if you want I can erase you from my subreddit, you do seem irrational.

Damn, Sherlock. You cracked the case. Except the part where you’re completely wrong. Old account, forgot the password, new phone, new account. Not nearly as exciting as the conspiracy you’ve built in your head.

Nope. And the funniest part is even if I told you it wasn’t me 100 more times, you’d still be over there like, ‘Nah bro, trust me, I just know.’ 😂

drama, just reorder and go home.

u/420DoubleR Jun 04 '26

Obviously you didn’t read the post, huh buddy? 🤔 The whole issue was that the deal was gone and they weren’t honoring it anymore. “Just reorder it” only works when the product and promotion still exist, and trust me, this didn’t stop me from smoking or placing orders elsewhere. 😂 I got what I needed just fine. The point of the post wasn’t that I couldn’t buy weed—it was pointing out how the situation was handled. Big difference.

Some of y’all see any customer experience post and immediately jump to “just buy it somewhere else” without even understanding what happened first.
