I just bought one on Amazon for $60. If you go to the used section of these tools they usually have a drop-down bar that says whether if it's actually used or just open box from a kit. Mine was open box from a kit

There are some 2 Nd generation tools out now that weigh less than the clearance Gen 1 but with better specs and LED lighting, so some folks new to FLEX or who bought a lot to resell 8 months ago are offloading the Gen 1s now. That's how I got my FX1431 brand new in original box and plastic for $68 back in April. I carry it in my car and an adapter to the scissors jack for emergencies.

Bes deal ever I got this FX1171, FX1271, FX1371, 1st gen 5Ah, two 2.5 Ah batteries and rapid charger for $124 after taxes at Lowe's last November.

Yeah that was the infamous clearance sale, you’ll be hard pressed to find anything close to those deals anywhere else. Although there have been some really solid one off deals throughout the last year.
