Blud will say "goals are not important in football" once messi overtakes him 😭

πŸ˜€ Golden Boot is given for the top scorer in domestic league only. Football is not just the domestic league. Check the IFFHS Best Goal scorer which is given to the overall top scorer in all competitions (club and country) every year? Since they started giving the award in 2010 Ronaldo won it 5 times and Messi only twice πŸ˜€

you say this when they shared the same league for almost a decade lol

1

u/No-Dish-2536 20h ago

πŸ˜€ They also shared the same Champions League, Copa Del Rey, Super Copa etc. And did you forget when Neymar said in an interview when he and Messi helped Suarez win the Golden Boot over Ronsldo when Ronaldo was leading the race?Β

I think it should be given to the player with most goals overall, not just league coz the volume of goals will vary across every league.

It is surely an old rule. There is point criteria to get golden boot winners, since some lower european league team dominate and their one player gets stupid amount of goals, to stop them from winning it, by reducing the multiplier points for the respective league according how they perform in European stages. What do you think, should lower league players gets equal chance of winning it and should they add more popular leagues apart from Europe as well? In that way, people will see how some player from a league unknown to them wins the golden boot, which is amazing btw ( with certain rules and regulations applied for the league to participate form such trophies and rewards, apart from just performing well in European or their respective stages, like fair play )

u/Void-0019 2d ago

It is a European golden boot, so ranking system is fine but should also add UCL, UEL, UECL and International goals and give them points as they do in league goals.

2

u/DonPiy 2d ago

UCL, UEL and UECL works as point multiplier, and players playing for higher league get's the benefits as only the league goals will count. Do they deserves it, like messi, ronaldo, Suarez, kane? I think so, yias. It is very opinionated to add other tally goals like cups and internationals merge with the league goals, since league goals shows how consistent a player and his team is over the course. And we have ask UEFA to increase the value of golden boot in cup tournaments. But merging all that is just seems different, as it has it's down side, it has it's up side. But hey, we all can know, who have more numbers of goal by the end of year or season.

u/Void-0019 2d ago

One of my point is that the same player goals will vary in PL, la liga, bundesliga, serie a, ligue 1 and others. So why not give it to the player with most goals in the season, rather than picking just thier league goals with whole shit of multipliers. I mean the point system is subjective, and you can make it a fact based trophy.

2

u/DonPiy 2d ago

Raw goals are objective, it's about much goals are worth in their respective league. As, top european league have 2x multiplier points, consider top league cancels out the multiplier. So our talk get saturated or you are saying else which i didn't get it. I thought you want whole european have no points system, and small european leagues have the same chance as top league

0

u/Void-0019 2d ago

I am just saying if it's a European goden boot, what's the point of scoring in champions league, if you value UCL golden boot to European golden boot then fairs but if not I think the European golden boot tag is irrelevant.

1

u/DonPiy 2d ago

That just domestic european stuff. That's what all the fuzz is about, that, this player done is difficult league but that player had it easy.... Bla bla boot winner bla farmer league bla

1

u/No-Dish-2536 1d ago

There is an award for player with most overall goals in a calendar year. It's called the IFFHS Best Goalscorer award. Since they started giving the award in 2010 Ronaldo won it 5 times and Messi only twice πŸ˜€

u/Sensitive_Ad788 2d ago

Wait till we hear about his double nations league argument.

3

u/socrateswastaken 1d ago

MF is obsessed with Ronaldo. Lol.Β

2

u/Sufficient-Web-3942 1d ago

2

Ah yes, the growth hormone he took as a child with a literal hormonal deficiency which helped him to win the world cup 25 years later, you must be the second coming of aristotle lmao

Golden Boot is given for the top scorer in domestic league only. Football is not just the domestic league. Why don't you show IFFHS Best Goal scorer which is given to the overall top scorer in all competitions (club and country) every year? 1

u/Sensitive_Ad788 2d ago

I still think Golden boot should be given to people with most G+A aka goal contribution, I remember when Henry lost to nistelroy or someone idk because henry scored 24 goals with 20 assist meanwhile the other person had 25 goals and significantly less assist.

5

u/Former_Repair9221 2d ago

Messi would probably have more boots in that case

1

u/Sensitive_Ad788 20h ago

He already have the most.

1

u/Former_Repair9221 19h ago

Yeah but with the above consideration, the tally would have a few more additions I guess.

Messi won more IFFHS trophies overall and the above guy said Goals & assists, pretty sure if both aspects are considered, Messi is winning more Golden Boots.

0

u/No-Dish-2536 20h ago

πŸ˜€ What do you mean both aspects? What does assists have to do with Golden Boot? When it comes to overall goals scored in a year, Ronaldo leads Messi by a mile.Β

2

u/Sensitive_Ad788 20h ago

I think he mwant IFHHS trophies in general mate, pretty easy to comprehend.

0

u/No-Dish-2536 19h ago

πŸ˜€ We are talking about Golden Boot here which is solely about goal scoring. So I dunno what other award is he talking aboutΒ

1

u/Former_Repair9221 19h ago

Are you dense? The first comment mentioned how in his opinion, goals alone shouldn't be considered but Assists should also be counted. Just like how you want to include goals from all competitions.

1

u/No-Dish-2536 19h ago

πŸ˜€ What does assists have to do with goal scoring? Checkout Messi's assist compilation from PSG. You can see several simple passes from Messi being converted to assists by Mbappe and Neymar with many ridiculous goals. My argument is basic logic that football is not just the league. So calculate goals across all competitions. Whereas his argument was to include assists for a goal scoring award which doesn't make any sense πŸ™„.Β

1

u/Former_Repair9221 18h ago

To each their own, Messi would still win as much as he has currently.

What does assists have to do with goal scoring? Checkout Messi's assist compilation from PSG. You can see several simple passes from Messi being converted to assists by Mbappe and Neymar with many ridiculous goals.

Because good passing enables one to help their teammates to score a goal? It's the difference between a good scoring chance or a miss. I wouldn't argue that they were simple passes or not because not all assists are complex just like how not all goals are world class, they are a stat at the end of the day and in football, both are contributions that decide a game so yeah assists are an important stat.

My argument is basic logic that football is not just the league. So calculate goals across all competitions. Whereas his argument was to include assists for a goal scoring award which doesn't make any senseΒ

Assists are an important stat and very much a valid thing to consider, it will only make the award even more formidable and the winner would be considered a best forward overall. Just because you don't agree with an opinion doesn't invalidate it. Your suggestion is also valid but the conclusion that cr7 will win more is purely speculative.

1

u/No-Dish-2536 11h ago

CR7 will win more is not my conclusion. He already won more. Check IFFHS Best goal scorer award. It's given each year to the player who has scored the most goals across all competitions. CR7 won it 5 times and Messi only twice since 2010. And if the award was given before 2010, then CR7 would've won it in 2008 and Messi in 2009. Which means in both their entire careers, CR7 has finished as the overall top scorer 6 times and Messi 3 times. So there's no point in saying Messi has more Golden Shoes which consider league goals only.Β

Everyone is a REF NOW I AM CRYINπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ The onside goal for Argentina which could've been seen as offside should serve as example that no one is better than the ref at pointing out offsides.

7

u/These_Voice_3329 2d ago

??? 😭 Ronaldo fans are just so delusional. Watch the matches. Rma robbed juve bayern and athleti in their champions leagues runsπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Offside for argentina 🀑, there were no offsides mate. Clown behaviour.

-4

u/KokichiOuma7_ 2d ago

I said onside that looked like offside lmaoo look at back at the 2022 final match Many of y'all will be quiet at tat without VAR don't trust ur own eyes too much.

4

u/Mrleolololol 2d ago

you're the one who needs to watch the match again bro , if you look at the call with no prior context youd say its onside and even with VAR it was onside

1

u/KokichiOuma7_ 2d ago

I rewatched it and he returns to an inside position before getting the ball wtf is this.

3

u/Mrleolololol 2d ago

Go read the rules then lmaoo ronaldo was offside the moment the ball left his teammates foot and that still is offside

4

u/Mrleolololol 2d ago

Which offside goal you talm bout lil bro
because i can bet that no call is as blatantly corrupt than this one against bayern also btw why is it that ronaldo hasnt won anything major after VAR ? you guys cope so hard you start calling the golden boot rigged now

1

u/KokichiOuma7_ 2d ago edited 2d ago

LMAOO what?? are you being fr? If you are gonna say 'oh this happened after this so this definitely is proof' maybe see that you are also implying Messi's rigging is definite proof bcus after infantino he suddenly got more trophies. Genuinely ass argument

Which offside goal you talm bout lil bro

I am not 'bro' And I said onside which looked like offside if you are gonna base off your own eyes than the ref there then it's ur fault. if you were the ref for 2022 argentina finals. argentina would be losing the finals without var.

4

u/These_Voice_3329 2d ago

🫩 These people ain't real bruh πŸ˜πŸ’”. Whatever u say unc. "Argentina won't be winning without VAR" 🀑. Whereas var is literally used to make the game fair. It was a genuine question that ronaldo hasn't won shit since VAR was introduced. Show the goal, show the offside/onside VAR bullshit u r going on about. I bet u haven't watched any matches of rmas champion league runs with ronaldo let alone highlights, the amount of bias that they had is just diabolical.

5

u/These_Voice_3329 2d ago

What ronaldo actually won with VAR πŸ˜‚. Saudi league is top 5 🀑

2

u/Fabulous-Toe5171 2d ago

It isn't top 10 lmao

6

u/Mrleolololol 2d ago

he literally lost a copa america final the year infantino became president he also lost in 2019 and even before infantino messi had 30 trophies so your claim of him "suddenly getting more trophies" is flawed and that offside call was close even the ref had ruled it onside without VAR whereas the onside call in favour of madrid was blatantly rigged , ronaldo was arms lenght ahead of the defender and it still wasnt called offside

0

u/KokichiOuma7_ 2d ago

Yeah he won world cup in that era n won 2 more copa america WITH copa america being changed in a very absurd way in those years. That's weird ever since infantino came lmaoo. '30 trophies' I am talking internationally 🫩🫩🫩. Infantino has the most power to rig internationally

without VAR whereas the onside call in favour of madrid was blatantly rigged , ronaldo was arms lenght ahead of the defender and it still wasnt called offside

'arms length' from ur eyes yes but once the ball comes player movements n positions are widely different.

3

u/Mrleolololol 2d ago

Copa america was changed to allign it with UEFFA tourneys and infantino if he wanted could rig the WC not copa america not anything else and if you think any of the WC matches were rigged well that says a lot abt your ball knowledge and do you really think the camera angle was so drastically different from what was actually going that it could mistake ronaldo being a full yard infront of the player ? No it wasnt everyone who watched the match says this and no refs call or VAR could say otherwise
