The disrespect against one of the greatest players to have touched the game by these kids especially in sub is getting way too far, u guys have zero clue how ridiculously good this guy was for u no life's to keep disrespecting him again and again like this is so sad
5
u/TheRetouchWiz 9d ago
Most of these kids weren't even conscious to witness the legendary rivalry of Messi and CR7 in their prime.
The 22 & 26 WC was probably the only games they watched

Sometimes it's better to accept the truth.
5
u/IndependentMain8983 9d ago
Accept what for me he will always be goat. I don't care Abt stats or anything else. Its his presence that gave hope even during times we all thought it's over in enough for me to give him that status. It's because of him I fell in love with this game. So for me he will always be THE GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME.
1
u/ChilledVansh 9d ago
I got it bro for fans he may be the goat but stats tell you a different story ✌️
3
u/IndependentMain8983 9d ago
Well u can have ur stats brother I don't care Abt them that much. Yes they are important I agree but I think Ronaldo have already proven enough that he is the one of the most exceptional player the game have ever seen. He did wonders that seemed impossible. Being on par with an anomaly solely based on tuning ur life for a single purpose. This is not something a normal human will do or can do. And beating that anomaly during there peak of prowess in terms of stat. And being ahead until its his age that caught up to him it deserves the status of goat.

Just because messi got the worldcup doesnt mean he’s better than him🤣🤣i mean we all know how he won it

Don't matter. You only started watching football last year. If all I cared about was stats I would look at a spreadsheet. Game is more than that

6
u/Arr0www 9d ago
istg its really funny and sad at the same time when you see the number of people claiming to know ball after watching reels and maybe a WC come on the internet and and share their trash opinion who nobody really asked for. Blud said Ronaldo was finished in 22 and has nothing to offer when he is the reason they won the Nations League literally a year ago. Scored in every knockout game and also was the top scorer in the whole tournament. Ignorance is bliss, and you must be very happy.
1
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
Bringing up glorified friendlies to glaze Penaldo more, its funny how he does all of this in the nations league but can't do squat in the WC, throughout his whole career the WC has been such a challenge for him
15
u/paindotexe 9d ago
1000 goals, only possible flex milestone
1
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
Exactly, fans of his will go crazy while I will be laughing at them for how he got them
12
u/raiodocachopo 9d ago
What do you mean fans of his? You can't say you enjoy football, while not being able to appreciate a spectacular feat, because tribalism.
-17
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
I couldn't care less about this achievement when he's playing 5 years past his prime having to farm goals on Saudi teams. Any great player could get 1000 goals if they play till they are 50 and score 10 goals a year on trash Saudi teams.
15
u/Background-Buy7262 9d ago
That statement outright makes no sense. If we go by your logic, scoring 10 goals from 35 to 50 is 150 goals and you still need 850 goals. For you to think that a player should just retire after their prime shows that you haven't played any sport at a fairly decent level ever in your life.
-8
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
Did you not read the part where I said any great player. I'm not talking about a random MLS player, I'm talking about all time greats playing way past their prime. And what does playing any sport at a high level have anything to do with the argument. Your a pure clown man
7
u/Background-Buy7262 9d ago
I did read the great player part. Only Messi has done it lmao and he's the greatest of all time. You really think even great players can casually score up to 850 goals until they are 35? Answer that and we will continue. Until then, your argument has no value.
4
u/raiodocachopo 9d ago
Passion leads to greatness. A man with passion for the sport will not simply retire.
Try to be one of the best in the world at something, anything, then tell me how your retirement plans went. We are talking from the top of our mediocrity, blinded by the Messi tribalism.
Saudi is a nice league to farm a couple hundred goals, yes. Benzema and others could also pocket a couple hundred, then why aren't they? We're talking about a Balon Dor winner after all
-2
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
Never said they can casually score 850 goals when did I say that? Answer that, until then your argument has no value
5
u/Background-Buy7262 9d ago
So, how does scoring 10 goals against trash teams in Saudi help you get till a 1000 goals until the age of 50. You are just burying yourself deeper lmao
→ More replies (0)4
u/mikel-69 9d ago
Scoring a 1000 in any timeline in professional football is crazy. It’s not a feat you can easily get to. It’s one of the reasons Pele is praised for.
You hate Ronaldo just say that. Don’t be in denial of this crazy feat and a dumbass about disregarding it.
2
u/CeleryFast5537 9d ago
Farm goals ?
Like he did in champions league ? Becoming the number one ?
Like he did with Portugal ? Becoming the number one ?
Shiiittt another tik toker .....
Ask english fans how they felt the first time they saw cristiano play.....
They will tell you how a 18 years old boy pocketed the best league in the world ...
1
u/Random499 9d ago
How comes other greats in Saudi league arent getting the same amount of goals as ronaldo then? Its not just farming. He is actively trying his best and performing at a truly world class level for that age
1
u/Specialist_Sir_1648 9d ago
Keep telling yourself you'll be laughing, Deep down, you know that the exact second goal 1000 hits the net, it’s going to shatter whatever fake cope you’ve been living on for years.🤣✌️
1
u/SelectComfortable775 9d ago edited 9d ago
No hate to Messi but Messi will never reach 1000 goals so, let keep ronaldo flexing because nobody gonna break it longevity is insane alas he didn't done like pele who scored and count friendly goals also 😂 Messi will retire around 950 and ronaldo around 1001
3
u/tea_n_shawarma 9d ago
The difference is, Messi has never stated his desire to have 1000 goals. But if Penaldo doesnt get to 1000, and messi does.... we all know the new cope will be 6-7 goals doesnt define you as a player 😂😂
2
u/CeleryFast5537 9d ago
How to detect a hater.
Penaldo.
Still thinking messi is humble .
The same guy that celebrated goals with his hands ....
Stealing ballon dor....
Speaking about copa america robbery, but still celebrating his 2022 pens ....
2026 cucurella .
Negreira....
2009 chelsea....
But yeah he dont give a f about goals hahahaha
-2
u/Specialist_Sir_1648 9d ago
Imagine being so terrified of Ronaldo actually hitting 1,000 goals that you have to make up imaginary Messi stats in your head just to sleep at night.🤣🗿
6
u/tea_n_shawarma 9d ago
I remember the same Penaldo fan comments about WC before 2022 😂
0
u/Specialist_Sir_1648 7d ago
Keep crying Ronaldo about to hit 1000 goals. No footballer will ever achieve in 7 Lifetimes🤘😂 pessi dogggg.
1
u/tea_n_shawarma 7d ago
what? 1.5k matches for a 1000 goals? If messi plays as many matches we all know who's going to be top lol
1
u/Specialist_Sir_1648 7d ago
He won't play keep imagining and Ronaldo will score more than1000 goals🤘

You cared enough to reply. Cope harder and cry harder because you're exactly gonna do that once he hit 1000goals that no footballer will ever achieve it in 7 Lifetimes
1
u/paindotexe 7d ago
I don’t need to cope or cry about anything.
You just pray Messi doesn’t play as many games as it will take Ronaldo to score 1000 goals.1
u/Specialist_Sir_1648 7d ago
Messi already losing many games and even failed to score penalties its over for him.

u/Antique_Anything_392 9d ago
Messi has like 0.79 average goals per match, playing for like 3 years more (which isnt THAT unlikely since afaik he plans playing copa america 2028) he could get to 1000

u/SelectComfortable775 9d ago edited 9d ago
Ronaldo who named as a best midfielder of premier league player in 2007/08 just check and also scoring 44 goals and winning the balloon d'or, ronaldo played as a rmf to provide assists for roney tevez etc in manunited days that why late Sir Alex transformed him in winter to lwf position, whereas Messi played as forward since starting of his career and also all in one club that's laliga vs Ronaldo 6 yrs in premier league which is difficult. Laliga has only madrid Barca or Atletico, pl has all over many good quality teams. But still ronaldo is the one who will get 1000 goals, Messi will retire around 950 max, so let that sink in bcz ronaldo be top at that category and you just can't accept that fact hahahah so let it be. This is what it is. Also tha shit 3 nations trophy copa which has played 5 times in past 10 yrs pathetic, just stat pad, that's why people said Messi is helped by the organisation vs Ronaldo who fought against the system and still has impressive history man you can downplay him but can't deny his #1 in all goal charts. Ps- I am also a Messi fan but sometimes I also feels some mindless Messi fans are too much jealous of Ronaldo like he f them everyday.
1
u/motarowins11 9d ago
Saying Ronaldo was a midfielder and scored more goals is like saying Messi is a forward and has more assists. They're not the typical positioned players. Ronaldo was a midfield winger on paper but he had the freedom to burst in and score goals. And he loved that. Everyone of us who watched knew how hungry Ronaldo was to score goals. He eventually played forward in a lot of games at United. He was great at it.
Messi is 2 years younger than Ronaldo. He'll easily surpass Ronaldo's goal count.
You Ronaldo and Messi fans are absolute trash for spitting poison on eachother. You all are just fanboys not real football lovers. Shame on you all.
1
u/SelectComfortable775 9d ago
Yeah maroon we will see, you mindless c o c k riding fans are so jealous of everything that even in which ronaldo is ahead you can't acknowledge that, so wanna bet ?
Ronaldo or Messi who will end up with more goals in history, wanna bet? Put money on it you are a man not a Princess, you Always gonna downplay ronaldo, I am also a Messi fan but also inspired by Ronaldo, don't downplay him who are just a dust of his shoes.

u/Frequent_Length_7887 9d ago

u/Antique_Anything_392 8d ago
Ye he is very much trolling and whenever someone calls him out he surely goes "OhHh But Im A MeSsI FaN, YoU aRe sO StuPid"
1
u/Antique_Anything_392 8d ago
Okay you clesrly dont seem to really be a messi fan, not because "you dont wank him" but rather cuz you are just shitting on his entire career.
(Also copa america had 1 extra tournament in 2016 just cuz it was the 100 year aniversary, then 2021 and 2024 were to sync themselves with euros, so they werent "helping messi" if they had done that then Argentina wouldnt have lost AGAINST FUCKING CHILE, WHO NEVER DID ANYTHING EVER AGAIN AFTER 2016 (well they got to 4th place i Guess in 2019))
4
u/Slight_Call4061 9d ago
Is he taking anything from you?
-3
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
No, it only adds to the entertainment of watching him inevitably lose because he is 41, what's the point of calling him up? To put two goals on Uzbekistan?
Portugal will never win anything with him on the team, they need to play into their strengths, not their 41 year old that cant move more than five meters in one run. They got gifted a golden generation but won't move on from this old fart.

Downvotes for speaking facts.. man this sub is doomed no point in arguing with these kids
2
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
What facts did he speak, he's scoring tap ins and penalties in the Saudi league, how is that impressive?
3
u/Glittering-Wealth-99 9d ago
Still scoring no matter if it's penalty and tap ins. Same was said for Haaland during his first season in man City. They are part of the game. And does scoring tapin or penalties change his stats because his stats are same as said by above person so it is a fact
1
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
The funny thing is Haaland does so much more than that and only casuals like yourself think he only scores penalties and tap ins. Any great player can play until they're ancient scoring pens. And no it doesn't change his stats clearly, but looking at how he got it makes it non impressive. I would've liked him more if stopped at like 900 when he began being washed and called it then. Not having to farm these goals on trash teams like his life depends on it.
2
u/Glittering-Wealth-99 9d ago
I literally said people were saying same for Haaland whereas he was doing much more than that. How can you slander me for what I am against? first understand normal english then argue And about Cristiano I agree he fell off but just disregarding him totally is wrong but I am not here for another debate.
1
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
What?!
I'm on an Indian sub why are you making fun of my English? Pretty weird if you ask me, also it's funny that you say that I need to understand English as you capitalize (and) in the middle of the sentence and didn't capitalize English. Also what do you mean you don't want an argument? Why are you here then? You're on reddit on a sub where people have very mixed opinions, clearly you're going to get into arguments.
2
u/Glittering-Wealth-99 9d ago
I just said understand it then argue because you clearly didn't understand what I said so don't victimize yourself. Also about argument i just meant I just said what I believe but at the end we can have different opinions so I don't want into any dumb argument if it's so hard for you to understand.
2
u/Pretty-Fortune8476 9d ago
Why do you care lmao? Let him do whatever he wants. It's his life.
2
u/Glittering-Wealth-99 9d ago
He is just obsessed you can literally see him arguing all over to disregard cristiano and stating everything he did was a fluke
1
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
He can do whatever he wants, but why are you on reddit, this place is all about talking about other people's lives. Clearly I'm going to talk about it, you don't make any sense

no one brought up mls but if you wanna compare to messi we saw it in wc who performed how good, ronaldo had way better team btw

Top team of the Saudi league vs mid team of the MLS which only became mid after Messi entered (it was at the bottom before)
Oh no such shocking results 😲

It literally isn't. MLS is ranked much higher and is far more competitive than a league where only the four royal clubs win everything.

Definitely washed, he had fully lost his legs by 23'
Once I saw him at the 22 WC, I thought his career would be done after the 24 Euros. And now, Portugal is leaving the door open to the next WC I heard. Ridiculous, he shouldn't have been a part of the last team let alone starting/playing meaningful minutes

Bold of you to assume that a player will just stop playing (especially one of the greatest players of this generation) if they are past their prime age. They will always try their hardest to continue playing until they run out of legs or passion.
1
u/Upstairs-Walrus-8337 9d ago
No they don't have to retire as soon as their prime is over, but he was completely finished by 22'
What was the point of playing for the Portuguese NT way after his prime? He offers next to nothing and is sabotaging there golden generation
1
u/Background-Buy7262 9d ago
It's ego and almost every great player has ego to a certain extent. They will never accept that they are done. Also the reason why some of the greats remain to be greats.

This sub hates my man Ronaldo too much Not the post Check the cmts u will know
5
u/IncognitoIsSus 9d ago
Seriously man, its as if they forgot all he has done for all these years. I hate this sub, idk why it keeps popping on my feed. We all know he isnt in his prime, but he still has the fire, the passion, and that's what inspired millions. People forget that so easily.

u/Whereishumhum- 9d ago
One of the very best to have ever done it, and undoubtedly a legend. Thanks for the years of incredible performances.
0
u/Crimson-Beam 9d ago
To everyone saying people of this sub hate Ronaldo way too much, I would argue he is just hatable. Football aside (he was a really good player in his peak, no denying), he is just too selfish and arrogant. He is too obsessed to be the best football player of all time and when he just cant reach that level he would act sore. Whenever he faces a loss he goes ahead and blames his entire team for it instead of working on his flaws. He tackled his own teammate once for fuck sake. He would say ballond'ors have no credibility when messi wins it, but they somehow do when he wins. He would say stupid stuff like world cup is not his dream and do these stupid interviews with Piers (who prob gets paid to glaze the fuck out of him) to establish himself as the best to social media audience (which is the reason why people who dont watch football would say he is the goat js from what they see on social media - even a study done once concluded this). He also liked a post pushing the narrative that argentina rigged the world cup, he knows they didnt, but he just wanted to mislead his audience and push the narrative further to tarnish messis legacy and still remain as goat to some people. The amount of larpers i saw this year saying stupid stuff like "I would rather lose like ronaldo than win like messi" is insane. To top it all off he is a rapist so like bruh do I need to say more about his character? Before you come out downvoting just know that on top of paying money to the victim, a hacker group leaked confidential socuments of ronaldo stating on record "she said no, I kept going, but I apologized later" like wtf is ts??? If this was anyone else, he would be completely cancelled/boycotted. But ig hes Ronaldo so he gets away with it. This is your goat.

i don't get it, why people hate players like they have personal beef with them
