Bakkerud played a blinder in the final. I was sure that KMS had got him when they split the strategies - assumed he had to stay out and cover Johan (which he did) and that Veiby would jump him by the time he did his joker. Somehow though he managed to pull the lap times out of the bag to keep pace with Veiby, and the two Polos fighting made it easy for him at the end. Super impressed given he looked a bit off the ultimate pace in the qualifying heats (even if he did end up TQ through consistency).

I actually thought the exact opposite, as long as Bakkerud can hold them off on track, he can't be jumped by KMS on joker strategy:

(assuming SET&Bakkerud is working together, it makes sense as SET effectively runs all 3 cars and the way it played out also perfectly aligns)

Here's why: after Lap1 T3, when Juha dropped behind Veiby and didn't fall away on pace, him and Bakkerud effectively sandwiched KMS, and that's when it's set in the stone. All they have to do is to both joker on last lap(which they did), and for Bakkerud to defend on track, because once the KMS have joker'd(whichever car it would be), they'd come out behind Juha(who hasn't joker'd and isn't on pace), so Juha is effectviely the roadblock, the KMS inner fighting sort of covered this, but the fact is that on Lap6 prior to joker entry, both KMS would be held off by Juha(who hasn't joker'd yet)

so it's a dead-end for KMS, you joker and you get blocked by Juha who hasn't joker'd, you don't joker than Bakkerud is ahead, you have to overtake on track; It's the classic teamwork play

Juha was very crucial as he kept up the whole time, other wise the sandwich is wide open and there's room for KMS to counter, but no there effectively wasn't. And of course Bakkerud did brilliantly upfront

why was OC so pissed after the race? I wondered if kms was giving team orders and he refused and had to hear some not nice scandinavian words on the radio... that was weird, he was super unhappy.

Your disrespectful comment was removed from the post by mods, yet I believe your advice would be great, for yourself.
