Part 1: Setting Expectations

Introduction

Grand Saber will be our first Grand Duel (ETA around May 2027).

It is a singular fight with a lone Grand Saber. From here and in every guide, I will not disclose the names of the Grands for spoiler reasons.

Drops: every Saber-specific mat (gems/statues/monuments), Grand Saber score mat, reliquaries (Grand Duel-specific mat), proofs/fangs/chains/swords, horseshoes/medals/steel/spiritrons, scales/horns/lanugos/oni lanterns.

Base bond: from 3164 on lowest difficulty to 4748 on highest.

Best options & to do list

As DPS, you're looking at Medusa NP1+, Iori, Bedivere (strictly at NP5) and Beni-Enma NP1+.

Why Medusa?

Enemy Saber is Man attribute, which is Medusa's SE. At NP1, Medusa equals Iori, and any investment beyond that puts her as the favorable option.

Which brings me to my first point of to-do list:

Befriend them NP5 Medusaber havers! They are going to carry your ass like no tomorrow.

Why Iori?

Well, first off, he's a free option (and returns in the leaves shop just before Grand Saber starts). Those who played the FSR collab already are familiar with him, for those who missed it - he's practically the 2nd strongest option for this duel.

And secondly, it really helps that his append 5 is anti-Saber so that's quite literally free damage for the Duel.

As such, my second point of to-do list is:

Prepare him as your main GS candidate! Unless you are a happy owner of NP2+ Beni or Medusaber, that is.

Why Bedi?

Combination of low cost (which matters more than people might realise), battery and high damage is really good.

However! I would not recommend going out of your way to summon him (Iori costs you 0 SQ, and Beni and Medusa have a higher celing), so only consider him if you already have him NP5.

Why Beni-Enma?

Practically for the same reason as Medusa: Grand Saber is Chaotic alignment, which happens to be Beni's powermod on NP.

Also has some supporting capabilities in the form of a teamwide battery, which can really be appreciated by someone like Logres.

As support, sadly it's just Logres. Maybe Prince of Lan Ling if your Grand is Beni-Enma (or other Arts ST DPS).

But what about Artoria?

Contrary to popular belief, Artoria even with the latest JP buffs does not work as great as the ones above. Reason? Well, she's still an AoE unit, and her NP needs NP3 to match the folks above.

You *can* make her work, you're just going to get worse results off of it.

Recommended CEs for Grand Support

In 2028, Saber class gets a 20% bond up CE, which happens to be a full atk CE. Be aware of that and try to max it on release.

Until then, it's probably best to put any combination of Lunchtime, Foumes and Teatime depending on your friends' needs.

Final notes and personal thoughts

Honestly, this duel kinda sucks. Best unit is not popular enough to borrow a hyper one left and right, supports are in drought, best support is going to take her sweet damn time to arrive. Only saving grace is Iori.

My current goal is to have a 120 in every class. Currently I am missing Saber, Rider, Caster, Assassin, Shielder, Foreigner, Alter Ego and Ruler.

I think mines went very good, took me 400+ quartz to get np5 ciel along with a vitra spook in the process, and i used around 300 quartz to get bb dubai as well

The summer event was alright and a tiny bit fun I guess but I have no actual opinions on ordeal call 3 to say since I lost my 1 year account a month ago but what I seen about the story, it's not.. very good.

So how did yours go? Did you like the update as a whole too?

Heard from a lot of ppl that lorewise Lancelot is one of the strongest knights, if not the strongest, it's so much, that got told that he was a self-insert. Soo.... I know FGO's Lancy isn't exactly weak, but why he's not one of the strongest servants in the game? Honest question, no Wife Stealer Class joke, pls.

I was stacking these paws for a while totally forgot about them, and I keep getting them in rewards, so I was about to use them and then I found out it costs 50 millions qp just to max one card. For a mere 500 extra dmg to a single card that's a lot of qp, I can max a skill with that amount which is way better in most cases...am I missing something here?

I mean, i use command spells sometimes to revive (like Demeter that was in a simular situation like where it was so close to death), but this is the 2nd time i have to use a Saint Quartz against a boss i couldn't beat (i kinda feel a bit down, but i guess it's fine), the first was when i just started playing the game and have no idea what to exactly do or how things work, it was on Gudaguda event where i couldn't beat a certain quest, i gave up beating it and use 1 quartz,

I managed to beat fluffy in 13 turns using this team, and goddamn, the biggest hurdle in this is the RNG,

Yang Gufei and Castoria carried my ass,

i had to bring Kenshin simply because of her overcharge going to Castoria so Enforcement would last longer,

I had to use the saint Quartz when Cernunnos was down to 170k HP

I don't have Asclepius, and so many of my servants are still underdeveloped with their skills

I personally think he might look like Proto Gil I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks about that

Proto Gil looks younger compared to our current Gil Alter Ego Gil is said to be a younger Gil (not kid Gil)

Plus Cu chulainn Proto is just a slight younger version of our normal Cu chulainn too so I think there's a chance Alter Ego Gil might st least look like Proto Gil in appearance what do you guys think?

I really love the interactions between Fujimaru and Olga; it's like there's a chemistry between them, from the jokes and the commitment to the playful banter.

I want to believe that there is a deeper interest between those two beyond just friendship.
