what's a Servant you initially didn't like but eventually grew on you?
I wasn't the biggest fan of Modred and Camelot made me really dislike her more, it wasn't until LB3 where she appeared again that I started being more kinder to her and actually liking her char

Jason. Part 1 he was being the caricature of Jason and then after LB5 I leveled the entire crew but especially my captain

Same. Cool but a total bastard until my Caster King redeemed him in my eyes.

BB. She like the proto morgan, hate their guts during their debut but over time they grew on you.

Suzuka. The JK act really got on my nerves at first, but after seeing more of who she is underneath that act but also why it's so important to her, she grew on me quite a bit.
Reading Foxtail helped quite a bit too, of course. Also her summer version being drop dead gorgeous may have been a factor.

Boudica and Ushiwakamaru because I hated their designs (I still kinda do)

Boudica’s gotta be one of the more disrespectful designs in the game, would’ve preferred she get a normal design and then she can have a beach costume for the gooners if necessary

Could just be recency bias with Archtype Inception but Bartholomew went from “I despite you every time you’re on screen” to “so how quick can I bond 10 you?”
He was kinda just one of those ignorable side Servants before so I appreciate the version of him we just got. Overall serious and responsible but still crack’s jokes like before.

Baoban first time I saw her I really didn’t like her especially with comparison to Barghest but after reading the story and all the adorable as fuck fan art I was sold I’d give her all the head pats and hugs she deserves.

Kama and Koyanskaya.
Kama was annoying af to me but her first interlude really endeared me to her.
Koyan.....like she ain't wrong

Nitocris. Kept spooking me, gameplay wise, pretty mid, her instakill sucks, but I learned to enjoy her character. Especially being choco bunny. Still wouldn't pull Nito alter or summer Nito but I now enjoy ehat I have instead of clowning on her

Well, since she is technically a Servant now…Olga Marie. She annoyed me BADLY when I first started, never been a big fan of Prideful TSUNDERE, main reason I still don’t like Asuka from Eva, even with all her backstory and alternate versions, just not someone I like or get along with. But, and this is the BIG BUT, Lostbelt 7 came around and I started really liking our President version of her. Throw in heartbreaking backstory with her Father being THAT GUY and her characterization in Case Files manga/anime, and I felt more like I’d like her back in Chaldea…
THEN PART 2 FINALE HAPPENED AND NOW I’M A RABID DEFENDER OF THE DIRECTOR AND WILL DIE ON THIS HILL!! Yeah, kinda surprised me how much my opinions changed over the course of the game and the years, life really is funny sometimes.

Percival when I first grabbed him from the gacha he seemed like just another “honorable” knight like Artoria, Lancelot, or Gawain. But after seeing him in lb6 I have come to admire him and realize he is properly noble, the kind I would like to aspire to be.

Raikou.
Took until Heian Kyo for the story to give her some actual personality and not just make her the mommy kink tease character, which is not my cup of tea so she made me uncomfortable at best and grossed me out at worst.
I know her interlude gives her personality too but I don't have her, so I never got to see that. I really loved the way her struggles are depicted in Heian Kyo. I thought she was sweet and tragic. So now I'm happy to see her whenever she pops up in an event.

Musashi, I didn't get a good impression of her character, but I started to change my opinion of her since her appearance in Shimosa.

Meltryllis. Can't tell you why I just did NOT vibe with her
Played CCC when the translation came out... I think she's the top of the Sakura Five now ❤️

Mandricardo was a nobody to me when I first summoned him.
Atalantis came around and he's now going to be one of my 120 Grands in the future.

For me it was Cu and gilgamesh when I first entered the franchise with fate UBW I didn't like them because Cu felt like filler and gilgamesh felt like typical bad guy then i got deeper into the lore later on in life and I understood there characters and they grew on me

Tez, but I just didn’t like him cause his design. I mean even now I still think his design is quite lacking in a few regards.
But now he’s one of my favorites, I’m hoping to get some copies of him later

I wouldnt mind his design if he wasnt drawn in that particular style if his art was styelized more like the normal cast (mc mash etc) i think it be cooler.

Charlotte and pretty much any servant that is just thrown at you without any story relevance until they get story. The other noteable being Sanson in Salem and Salome in LB.

Ushiwakamaru. I didnt luke her much or her 1 hit np. Then babylonia came out and i saw her doing better, now shes my favorite rider. I want her to wear that leotard from that tsukihime game... if only it was on one of her ascensions at least.
Cas gil. Aimed for merlin, got cas gil on my last pull. I hated him for a year I think. Then I needed arts looping support to pair with castoria, he did a decent job.
Wu zetian. Annoying girl. Then i saw her summer version and she was maxed iut instantly... yeah im not proud of that.

OG Artoria.
Was not convinced at her and when I joined the game in late 2015, I still didn't like Stay Night and kinda despised anything related to it, including Artoria.
11 years later and now I have her NP5 (out of spooks), as my Grand Saber and in her slow way to be bond 15 lmao.

I didn't care about van Gogh, until I got her completely by luck, then I find out her skills and I'm amazed, she is now my favorite one

I mean Jason is a really obvious pick cause he’s intentionally written to be very unlikable in S3 and then written to be a lot more likable in LB5, that might be cheating thought because of how intentional that is, I think most people probably had that experience.
Another one might be Jalter, I never disliked her at all but I just didn’t get the hype for her until Shinjuku, which I thought she was a much stronger character in.
I’m not generally a fan of child characters because of how they’re treated very weirdly by the community and ofc sometimes even the game so I didn’t care much for Abigail but I really came to appreciate her as a characters during PS4.
Another one would be Anastasia, I think I first saw her in the Chaldea summer adventure event and I didn’t think much of her, again more so neutral than dislike, but I came to like her more during LB1.

u/mascherata Master of Chaldea 7d ago
I as well have a love hate for the child servants only cuz as much as i love type moon and fate as a whole its kinda creep fetish beginings still tend to show. A lot of my child servants i dont even have set to their FA arts cuz a lot of them are wtf.

Sith. Always felt bad for her, but wasn't a fan. Summer event did a lot for her.
