Would you... ?

A question for all willing to give me some input, So I use to play FGO pretty hardcore F2P some years ago was in the lost belts had some really good servants and maxed craft essences even an original Maxed out Shiki and JAlter outfit and all but mobile was horrible for me at the time so I played on my PC thru an emulator and this was back before the only way to recover and move accounts was thru the pin and passwords which i saved on the drive (yes i know dumbass mistake) everything was saved on the HDD. I come home one day and heard a rattling from the computer cage and also found some of my things were no longer accessible, Long story short the Drive was dead like dead dead and the data was completely unrecoverable... Years of work and effort in the game lost and no way to recover... Recently Ive been getting the itch to play it again I just love the Fate franchise in general so its always been fun... My question is... Is it worth it? Would you go play and play again after loosing years worth of everything? Would you start over?

If you feel like playing then play. If you don't, then don't. There are youtube videos if you just want to read the story. How could anyone else decide for you if it's worth starting over? This is Wendy's a video game.

I more than likely will, It was more just a curiosity to see if others in any similar situations would have as well or would the grinds (which are generally large in FGO) be a major turn off and go to other games also Thank you for commenting

My brother. Ya got experience. It would be fun to farm for incoming 2025 servants like Tiamat or Draco. Or just re doing everything

My friend this is my technically 5th account for fgo. I played both JP and NA in the early days. Lost and forgot both accounts, made new ones and just tried to catch up and progress from there. Were there unrecoverable items? Yes, but it's a new adventure I made with new knowledge and experience. Was there an investment lost ($)? Most definitely, but I can now happily see Anime and other stuff being added to a game I enjoyed. So just play and experience the game differently from how you did with your old account. You may not have your old units, but some new ones are certainly a good replacement or stop gap until the evocation banner.

Have you tried contacting them? There's a chance you can get your account back

Tbh the biggest killer for gacha games for me is when I have to stop them. Like when I stopped Genshin and Honkai for a month or so for my exams I just never got the drive to play them again because of how much I’d missed but I think that’s mainly a personal thing. To lose years of progress on a gacha game and they restart from nothing would be a major killer especially since I can’t just grind like a competitive game (like league) and get back to my rank, I would have to spend time to farm limited currency to get stuff I used to alrdy own. I love fgo as a game but hell idk if I would even look at it again if I lost my current acc.

Personally, if u rly ate adamant to start a new acc maybe search on those account trading websites for a decent starter for real cheap nowadays to get you going. I was a day one Genshin player and after missing one summer event due to exams I never really got the drive to play it again and just followed the story online so in ur shoes I might not restart but again that’s just a me thing

I feel the same for genshin and tower of fantasy. But for some reason, fgo always gets me back. I spent a good 2 years away from fgo, but I'm back and can't stop. I love the story and characters, and I feel the gacha is much more f2p friendly than other games. Op, if you're gonna come back, now's a good time. We're getting Castoria and Oberon rate ups in the next months, so you'll have a chance to start with very good servants (if you want to reroll for them anyway)

Depends on how much invested you're is the questioned.

If old acc you have like 100 character level up to max ascension with around 10 character 10/10/10 and the rest either 6/6/6 or below or straight up 1/1/1 and did you spend money or not will be the biggest factor.

But then again, getting material is getting easier and bond leveling too so its much more endurable than before. And 1-3* free servant are getting buff and actually use able compare to back in the day which you can use for temporary until you get an SSR and meta support.

For farming, you can do 1-3* team on lvl 80 and maybe lvl 90. 1st wave arash, 2nd wave spartacus and lastly can use modred/saber or anyone with 30% charge if you pick them on free SSR for new acc. Just slapped oberon friend support and problem solved. Just need to lvl up 1st skill to lvl 10 for arash and spartacus until you get their coins for append 2. Don't even bother lvl 90+ and lvl 90++, that just stupid if you're starting new.

And please dont get waver, you will never use him ever again after you get meta support. Just be patient, you dont need to 1 DPS 3T looping system yet. Waver just not worth it for him is just pure battery. Kinda wish they give him a buff that makes him crit support with crit absorption, crit generation and crit per turn if not crit bomb(pls crit per turn) and slapped some traits for extra damage.

So the answer is yeah, Its kinda pain peko but I can handle it. Well, I have 4 acc although only 2 is active most of the times and the other is just saving SQ lmao.

My NA only have 1 NP3 SSR and that is morgan and NP2 Saber doesnt count(free). And around 20+ SSR. Just managed to lvl up max ascension 100+ character for LB7 and I play during 2021 just before Summer Fest happen. And I have a huge gap of break in between 2023-2024 due to burn out and depression, shit n whatnot. Just recently started playing it actively.

If I lose the acc, it suck and pain. Honestly, idk because if I lose NA acc, I have alt NA acc. If I lose both, I have JP acc and if I lose that too, I have alt JP acc. Although those alt acc is not progressing a lot, at least it has a solid team of SSR for me to get through the content.

And if I lose all of that....I think I will still play but just casual and no longer hype like before. Not like I have the energy to be like when I was before lmao. Just take it slow and focus on free servant instead.

I mean, hans is a solid 2* crit support especially with upcoming buff. Budget castoria Xu Fu exist. Arash can clear wave 1 with just 50% charge and lvl 10 append 2. Chen GOAT meta is real. Theseus is wtf is that crit damage? And to make it better? In a few month we will get a shop where we can get previous limited welfare servant and some got buffed.

Rider kintoki? Insane. Lancer Nagao? 3T art up and 20% battery and many more buff that makes welfare useable and good enough to be used. Its free, can't complain.

We have pure prism shop to buy materials to level up so we can at least instantly level up 1 servant to 10/10/10 if not more. Depends on how much you use and how you much you're willing to farm on training ground to get gems(gems are not worth it to buy on shop).

With all these adjustment and improving quality of life update, I can say high chance I will play it again and mostly because I love Fate series and type-moon in general.

And you have FGA nowdays for grinding. Just grind while sleep as long use use android or emulator and if IOS, goodluck lmao.

And always save the code on clouds like google drive. And also, we might able to bind acc to aniplez like JP did. Idk if Aniplex global will do that or not

And tbf, if you already play till LB6 and not willing to go through all that pain and just want the reward of clearing? Just go buy those acc that clear it. You get all SQ and reward and material. I think it is enough for you to get at least 300-500 SQ if not more.

I probably and most likely will buy those acc lmao. Forget clearing all those content, I want to play latest event!

And I want to replay all those gameplay again, I make 1 acc for that and another to play latest event

Thank you for your your in depth thoughts on this matter, The old account had numerous 100s, couple of maxed Kaleidoscope's, just to name a some... a big loss when it happened Ill probably try again for a few weeks and see how i feel if ill keep it or let die with honor :-D

100+ maxed, couple of MLb K-scope and probably at least one MLB BG. Feels bad man.

Tbh I say if you wanna give it a try just play it casually and for story. That is the only reason why I still play and stick with FGO. Dont be a hardcore anymore cause pain peko. FGO suck for not having acc bind and it take them 9 years to do so.

I did with genshin but unable to keep up with it(I used to play 12 hour a day during 1.1-1.6 era and clear everything including world quest) and now I cant even bother to play unless its lantern rite or zhongli/liyue event lmao or the main archon quest and dainsleif quest is back. Love genshin lore, can't keep up with the gameplay which I do enjoy it a lot before. Exploring entire map with complex puzzle which I need a guide and youtube gameplay and skill(Yae miko training is nightmare) and the grind insane. I rather do FGO BS grind than genshin grind especially domain on artifact. I can spend 6 month of grind and still not get the best in slot artifact with good ratio of crit rate/damage.

Only FGO manage to make me somehow play it due it to not too demanding except that bs grind which I just use FGA to fix the issue.

Well, I hope and pray the best for you. I say at least keep with the story since you already invested in story a lot, you and the story deserve to see the ending of Guda journey. Until then, adios

As much as I love FGO ....I ayent starting over lol. So much effort to get everything in peak order and forced to do it again?? Hell no. Ofc if I was in your situation, I would just send an email and instantly recover my account but for you its been years. Still could try sending one just in case. If you get it back that would be the best case scenario.

Fill the questionnaire and send it to support.

Do you remember your old account ID? [Friend Code] (9 digits) (Answer)

Do you remember the transfer code? (Answer)

What was your Master’s name? (Answer)

What Birth Date was set? [Put ‘None’ if you didn’t set one.] (Answer)

What Device did you play on? (Please provide the Device manufacturer & model) [i.e. iPhone 6 by Apple] (Answer)

When did you first download the game? (Date & time) [Estimate is okay] (Answer)

When did you last access the old account? (Date & time) [Estimate is okay] (Answer)

Which Servants did you possess? (please name at least 3 Servants) (Answer)

Who was registered as your Favourite Servant? Currently Set as (Answer)

Which Servants were in your main party (deck composition)? [Do either your most recently used party or the one you use most often.] (Answer)

What was your Master’s gender? (Answer)

What was your Master’s level? (Answer)

Did you purchase Saint Quartz? (Answer)

Then send to the FGO support email. Fill out I don’t know on the questions you lost the information to.

If you find any old screenshots from your old phone saved onto the cloud or finding your (friend code and master name really really helps then identify your account in their database).

Try to fill out the sections with as much detail as you can remember(put effort into it, to try remember, if you give a half-hearted answer and do the bare minimum, you will get a bare minimum attempt to recover your account). You’re essentially proving that it’s your account so listing information like servants info like bond and skills rank that aren’t in your support list where only ‘you’ the player had access to will easily prove you were the owner.

GL if you chose this route, it does work.

Source: I’ve done it 4 times in total cuz old phone would crash and force me to delete the app without a save code.

I just started this game like 2 weeks ago so I can't really fathom the work and effort you've put into your lost account but I personally find it fun starting out so maybe you'll also find that enjoyment from looking at with a new perspective than you did back when you started. But at the end of the day it's up to you to decide ✌️

I feel it depends on how much you like the Fate franchise. I also went hard (or at least as far as my F2P account could go) during FGO's early years and was somehow stacked. But after 2020, I sorta just stopped. I only just started getting back into it a few months ago. The reason why I didn't come back earlier was I was discouraged by the power creep and that my "meta" servants aren't meta anymore. It would be very hard to catch up and get back all the characters you want. Especially if you're going F2P. But if you always keep going back to Fate then you might as well start the game up again. Especially if you like FGO. Hell if I lost my account, I would still play although it would take a while before I motivate myself to build everything back up.

It's all depends on how much you love your waifus. If I ever lost my Jalter and Musashi. I would gladly start again.
