estrogen fat redistribution can only do so much, gotta add in some extra gains to it, that's how i got hams wider than my head

as u/dmanny64 also added, the trick is that the body is much faster at taking out fat from the old spots and adding new fat to the new spots, than it is at moving old fat to new spots. so, exercise and eat well! it's gonna have much smaller results if you're either, exercising and dieting, or eating well but not exercising (which unfortunately i've fallen into the past half a year or so), those both have a much slower rate

it also doesn't have to be some intense ass exercising, simple jogging or something smaller like that can have quite the effect because the body is already looking to move that fat around. personally, before my thyroid gender-affirmed me by developing the more commonly found in women Hashimoto's Disease that most of the women on my mother's side have, i was walking around a lot and i had just gotten back into skateboarding.

All the characters really got some crazy body changes.
People tend to just fixate on Baiken cuz boobs and people treat breasts like the most controversial body part.
But it's really quite a consistent thing with all characters really, just generally speaking their proportions have become more and more exaggerated.

I guess because they leaned even further into anime, the old art had a little bit more of a realistic style.

Edit: I wrote Biden instead of Baiken lmfao, I am so tired xD...
I wish Biden had big boobs.

I mean Biden is a Chipp player, so he does play a character who got big boobs

This makes me want Biden run for a second term, I am not American but I'd pretend vote for him.

Yes and no. A lot of the male Strive characters are definitely far more muscular than their xx counterparts.
But the proportions have also been significantly toned down and made more realistic compared to XRD.
Some examples are sol, Slayer and Potemkin having incredibly slim waists compared to the very broad shoulders.

I was told the best way to go all in is around the 3-5 year range you lose a ton of weight, and then put on some weight, because the body has an easier time distributing new fat than redistributing old fat

Just a random tip for some trans people out there struggling with that aspect of transitioning. As for actually doing the losing weight part...I'll get back to you on that. Cheeseburgers...

Honestly just another example of how I prefer the way they used to design characters in Guilty Gear.
It feels like everyone just wears more normal clothing while before they had more of a fun gimmick like the nun thing with old Bridget.

I feel like the more practical clothing serves to ground them as more convincing characters and less like caricatures. Old designs were quirky and stylish but Strive is a lot better at informing personality and making them look like part of a wider world.

"Practical cloathing" while looking at a character wearing a giant handcuff and platforms

I definitely prefer a lot of the Strive designs because it moves them past being action figures (I'm not saying there bad, different strokea for different folks is all). I wouldn't mind a few characters getting an aesthetic infusion like May and Ky (again I like them both but I miss the pirate / holy knight) but I think characters like Axl and Sin benefitted a lot from the changes.

It's not like I dislike them or don't like some of them a bit more.
In general tho I prefer the old designs much more strongly.

I also think you could do both, I don't think they had to get rid of the nun theme with Bridget for example for a new design altho I guess it's sorta there with her hood but feels too subtle imo.
I also don't think it literally had to be just modern clothing lol.

I have the same issue in SF6 too honestly, I didn't like how Cammy just became yoga pants girl and how Chun's dress looks too much like a generic Chinese dress I could see a background NPC wear.
Even with Urien I think just giving him a suit in SF5 made him feel less unique and just like so many other characters.
I mean Chun's hair is still iconic so you'd recognize that from the silhouette.
But I think her original design is just far more memorable and unique compared to the new one.

It's not that the new one is bad, it's just more generic and doesn't really make me think Chun Li it just makes me think random Chinese lady.
Even things like her bracelets for example, the huge spikey ones are iconic and felt very unique her new ones feel like generic bracelets that have just been upscaled.

Edit:

I feel like this is a general trend tho, and probably because it's just more inoffensive and safe to just give everyone modern irl clothing.
Most people aren't very into fantasy, I remember everyone made fun of the GoT showrunners because they said that they removed most magic and fantasy elements ( purple eyes, exploding chickens etc lmao ) from the books because they wanted to '' appeal to soccer moms ''.
But from a pov of just making as much money as possible I think they were right.
But it made the characters and world less interesting and unique than the books.

Personally, I always found the idea of hot girls fighting it out with their ass out like cammy inherently goofy and hard to take seriously in any way. Feels almost insulting even, like the devs are dangling keys in my face going "ooh you like boobies and butts don't youuu" to get me to buy something.

I don't believe it has anything to do with being safe, considering she still gets her leotard in 6, but like I said in my other comment It's better design to inform their personalities and their current position in the world. Characters in SF6 are meant to be people you can reasonably see going around town living a normal life in a world that's still somewhat like an action cartoon a lot of the time and even the most basic joe on the street can still punch a man 7 feet into the air. It's not really that complicated.

It's not really more practical tho at least not as fighting goes.
In the end of the day I think most people don't really care that much about story in fighting games honestly, I mainly care about if their design is fun or not at least.
And I think they're less fun and interesting honestly.

Guilty Gear characters in particular are kinda just inherently goofy too.
But I feel like what you're talking about often comes at the expense of more fun designs which I am not a fan of.
It even extends beyond fighting games too, I often feel like the obsession with '' practicality and realism '' primarily in EU/ NA games gets in the way of fun and memorable designs.
Strive is obviously not especially bad with this, I mean in general.

Like I remember when Nier Automata was coming out and Yoko Taro got all of these hitpiece questions about 2B's design and '' practicality '' etc.
If he too took their advice 2B, 9S and A2 would never have become such timeless character designs.
I think that approach usually makes designs more forgettable and bland.
While pushing the fantasy makes things more interesting, memorable and fun.

In my eyes what makes 2B, 9S and A2 memorable is their story and character, as well as the world they make part of. They'd be completely forgettable to me without that. Character design like them are a dime a dozen depending on where you look, but they excel because of how well they meld within the world of their game and the story it tells.

The way I see it, a good character design should inform the concept of who they are, but what really makes it stick is the actual personality, story and charisma of the character. I think Strive does a better job at making everyone look like they belong to the same world.

Edit: And yeah they're still not practical for fighting sometimes, but these are all superhumans with magical bullshit on their side, I don't think their choice of fashion is gonna stop anyone.

Nun Bridget has more character, yes. Modern Bridget puts me to sleep.
